Looking for personal accounts from anyone dealing with a member of a 9 Marks Church (Baptist). Trying to put together an individualized evangelization plan.

For anyone curious about them, here is a wikipedia link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Dever

I know nothing about them nor do I know anyone who does, but I ask, why would there be any different evangelization plan? Do we have different evangelizations plans for different Christian denominations?🤷

According to the article their founder is a five point Calvinist which means that they believe that God has chosen some to go to heaven and God has chosen some to go to hell. They, of course, believe they have been chosen to go to heaven

From my experience 5 point Calvinists are the hardest to evangelize.

If you are working with an individual you might ask them to read The Catholic Controversy by Saint Francis de Sales. He converted 70,000 Calvinists back to the Catholic Church. The book is a reprint of the letters he had to leave on doorsteps because he was forbidden to preach in public.

To effectively evangelize, it is always wise to know the differences in our beliefs before-hand so you are specifically prepared for those differences. For instance, when dealing with someone from the LDS Church, I would use an entirely different approach than dealing with someone from a CRC Church (my former denomination).

Additionally, when dealing with many people, you may only get one shot at gaining their’ attention before they shut-off from you. You need to make an immediate impact, in many cases, if you hope to get passed their’ hardness of heart. It may not bare immediate fruit, but as long as you can break the surface soil and get the seed planted, then their’ is hope.

Excellent recommendation. Thank-you.
