A friend sent this site to me awhile back and I thought I would share it with all of you. It seems we have been debating the same thing (and using some of the same arguments) for at least 9 centuries!
fordham.edu/halsall/source/christ-muslim-debate.html
**It seems that it is a fake debate. Not really happened. The whole episode is written by a mischevious Christian missionary who attributed it to a Prince/ and some “moslems”, in order to decieve his own Christian community because real Muslims cannot be deceived by this kind of joke.
All of Monk’s questions and claims can be answered and debunked very easily.
In this “debate” Monk says"
“…-- If God wants the salvation of the whole world, His messengers should be sent to the whole world, too. And anyone who pretends to be a Messenger of God needs a sign to corroborate his assertions; he needs also a power from God to confirm his message”**
It seems, Monk is like those Scribes and Pharisees who are condemned by Jesus Chriast as "an evil and adulterous generation ":
Matthew 12
38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying: Master we would see a sign from thee. 39 Who answering said to them: An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. 40 For as Jonas was in the whale’s belly three days and three nights: so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
Matthew 16
1 And there came to him the Pharisees and Sadduccees tempting: and they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 But he answered and said to them: When it is evening, you say, It will be fair weather, for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning: Today there will be a storm, for the sky is red and lowering. You know then how to discern the face of the sky: and can you not know the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. And he left them, and went away.
But according to Luke, Jesus condemned the whole multitude/generation, not just Scribes and Pharisees:
Luke 11
26 Then he goeth and taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and entering in they dwell there. And the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. 27 And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him: Blessed is the womb that bore thee, and the paps that gave thee suck. 28 But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God, and keep it. 29
And the multitudes running together, he began to say: This generation is a wicked generation: it asketh a sign, and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. 30 For as Jonas was a sign to the Ninivites; so shall the Son of man also be to this generation.
