Thanks so much for the link. lt is so nice to see such an uplifting commercial!~

Mary.

I need to dig around for the source, but the people in the ad are not actors, and are friends in real life. 🙂

Yes, I just saw this commercial yesterday and it is a great one!

May God bless us and grant us the ability to live in peace! 🙂

Nice but would have been realistic and more believable if the priest was shown knocking/visiting the Muslim.

I’m not sure why it matters whether the imam or the priest visits the other. Whatever the case the Amazon ad has a beautiful message. Let us all pray for the Muslim community across the globe who are currently experiencing so much hate, fueled by the ignorance of those who do not wish to see the entire picture but generalize/stereotype an entire people and religion.

??

I’m not sure if you know many Muslims or live in an area with Muslims but I live in Houston, Texas. Houston holds the most ethnically diverse counties in America. In the city I live in alone there are four mosques. So I have known and befriended many Muslims. Sadly the ignorance of many in the nation has led them to scapegoat this community because of the actions of extremists.

Do you know how many Muslims friends of mine have been harassed? Do you know how many of them of been told to go back to their country even though they are born citizens of the United States? Do you know that I an Eastern Catholic of the Syro Malabar Church of India has also been harassed just because my skin is also brown and ignorants out there generalize and stereotype? The recent political rhetoric has not helped to down play this but only further fueled it. Do not be so quick to pour out your judgement on the state of things.

This was a beautiful commercial, a beautiful sentiment, and a beautiful thread until someone decided to make an issue out of it.
It DOESN’T MATTER or MAKE IT “BETTER” if the roles are reversed. If you watch the ad, they were careful to show the similarities and the people as equals.
Catholics should be proud that a rectory was opened to a beautiful dialog with the Imam, a cleric in that faith.

To pick it apart now, and make an issue of the faiths involved?
Petty.
Beyond petty.
And not at all in the spirit of the Gospel message.
