We had 110 seminarians from St. John Vianney Seminary with us. What a sight to see! So many young men, dressed in black suits and looking so sweet (I’m a woman–I can use the word sweet 😉 ). The Diocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis has a great Vocations Director, Fr. Tom Wilson (who was once our associate pastor–one of the best we’ve ever had). Isn’t it wonderful to realize that God has called these young men to consider the priesthood and that so many have responded? 👍

Please kidnap a few for Southern Illinois! 😃
Move to the Rockford or Peoria Dioceses. There’s a good crop of them in either place.

I hear you guys needs some serious help there…is the Bishop appointed after Gregory helping or not?

Wow! What a great Festival Letter! Gotta love a Bishop who isn’t afraid to use the term ‘wimp out’! 👍

Our previous associate pastor is an alumni from there. The most Holy man I’ve ever met!!

Yeah DId you see the reference to “bloody athleticism?” I totally laughed my butt off!!! Good for him! I like a bishop with back bone!!! As far as I am concerned I agree with him about the parents who drive their kids to all these activities but then skip mass…wouldn’t happen in my house!!!

I missed the one about ‘bloody athleticism’! I’ll have to re-read it.
And, unfortunately, I know a lot of parents that fit his description - wouldn’t happen in my house either !!!
I agree with him 100% - he sounds like an awesome man. What a blessing!

I totally love him!!! In fact, I have never belonged to a parish I liked so much either! Bishop Jenky has quite a sense of humor nad the kids all love him but that doesn’t mean he waters things down at all…the opposite, he tells it like it is. At my parish, I used to think my pastor was just a little bit too timid until he went to bat for my kid…wouldn’t let them kick him out of the grade school, then he went on deployment last year to a hospital in Germany to minister to the wounded soldiers…he came back a changed man!!! He is no longer timid in the least, he is definitely filled with the Holy Spirit and totally awesome! We are truly blest here in the Peoria diocese!!!
