I did and got no responce from the letter. I don’t know why I haven’t heard from them, I have sent at least 3 letters with no responce.
They usually don’t respond. But if you ever decided to come back you will have to go through a process. Be assured, you are outside the Church. You are no longer Catholic. You have excommunicated yourself. I will pray for you that one day you will come back to the fullness of the truth.

You are willing to be judged as a catholic instead of one who didn’t have the same oppurotunity to know the truth.

First one needs to have heard the good news in order to know what they are repenting of.If one has never heard of God’s offer of salvation how are they to accept or reject.Upon accepting who Jesus is ,followed by repentance this person’s salvation is only begun not a finished work.
I realize they need to hear the good news first. I left he church because I disagree with the teachings. Don’t judge me as a Catholic I don’t believe the church is the only one who teaches the truth or that it is even true.

I was always pretty sure that losing your grace, meant you lost your salvation. You have to have grace to get salvation.

Anyway, I think we are agreeing that you can lose your salvation. I think we are anyway…it’s late.
Yes we agree

If they don’t respond then I’m still Catholic according to the CC. One cannot excommuicate ones self from the church.

But that’s not scriptural? Please show me where the Bible states another truth (I did a search and can’t find truth and scriptures in the same verse??)?

**1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Eph 3:10 That the manifold wisdom of God may be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places through the church,**

But you sent them three letters asking them to. That is the difference. Anyhow, nice talking to you. It is late. Going to bed. How long can this thread last?

Actually you can, ipso facto, by the act itself called “Latae sententiae” and it doesn’t take a Bishop to do it. As with many sins, one does doesn’t receive punishment directly from God but (by free will) chooses to separate from the will of God. Separate oneself from God and the Truth becomes Lies. God never throws a person away, the person throws him/herself away. That’s why “confession” is more formally known as “The Sacrament Of Reconciliation” – a willful desire to return and conform to Jesus along and an agreement to make reparations for the sin. A Final Judgement resulting in Hell is because the person chose a permanent separation from God.

Let me share a little analogy with you.

For the sake of this demonstration, let’s say you can’t swim. We’re standing on the side of a river and you fall in. I jump in and pull you to shore and save you from drowning. Then I leave you alone on the river bank. You slip and fall into the river a second time. Are you still saved?
I love this one everytime I hear it because it reminds me of Proverb 26:11.

If you are foolish to be around the water anytime after just be plucked out for nearly downing, then… maybe you haven’t learned the right lesson.

Maybe I’m a simpleton, but this argument is always lost on me, for the most part.

The only difference I see between Catholic and OSAS is OSAS looks to me an idea that you can backslide into heaven. (w00t!)

Salvation is a gift from God. You choose to accept his grace or not to accept his grace of salvation. If you don’t repent your sins you can loose this salvation ie, not go to heaven.
To be saved means you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Its like being a Catholic if you are baptized into the Catholic faith you are always a Catholic even if you leave the church you are still a Cathollic even if you go to another denomination you are still Catholic. Like me I went through all the sacriments of the Catholic faith but now I am a Baptist but according to the Catholic faith I’m still Catholic.
This seems so contradictory . . . what does the word “saved” mean to you. To most of Christianity (if not all), to be saved means to have salvation/eternal life. When someone says they are saved, most people take it to mean that they are going to heaven; if our definition is true, then you can not be saved indefinitely and lose your salvation because to be saved means to have salvation . . .

I’m really curious as to your understanding of these words.

If one is foolish enough to be in sin after receiving the way to salvation, then…maybe one hasn’t learned the right lesson.

You cannot loose being saved once saved always saved, but you can loose your salvation you can loose your eternal life.

Isn’t “being saved” the same thing as living forever with God in Heaven? How can you lose your salvation, and at the same time still be saved? 🤷

I think I am lost… on my own thread.

Once saved always saved is a perversion of the gospel of Christ. It is a man-made doctrine and therefore it is different than Christ’s gospel:
I always like the drive-bys. They remind me of growing up. Our neighbor would yell, “Get out of the street!”

We would for 30 seconds and then go back to playing ball.

Thanks for the memories SHW!

Being saved is accepting Christ into your life.
Salvation is a gift from God. Salvation is heaven.
You can loose your salvation if you commit a, what ya’ll call, mortal sin and not repenting for it.
Jesus can to earth to save us if we accept him. Once you accept Christ you cannot loos him.
God gives us salvation.

No matter how I explain it you will not accept it because its not of the Catholic faith. Besides I have explained it over and over.
