Sadly the “church” of Scientology has a history of human and civil rights abuses, including coercering and forcing abortions, suing and harassing those who speak out against them, forced child labor, forced adult labor, intercepting and confiscating US mail, separating families in a form or excommunication called disconnection, and using their various arms (all of which are branches of the church) to promote political agendas in violation of the non-profit IRS rules that govern churches (separation of church and state–your parish priest can’t make suggestions about political candidates without jeopardizing your church’s tax free status, yet the "church of Scientology has clergy that does so).

These abuses are because the “church” of Scientology is Godless and doesn’t follow the Word of God. Their founder referred to Jesus Christ as a “lover of young boys” So anyone who can be that blasephemous–well it is sickly logical that such a group of people who follow such a wicked man would have so little respect for the unborn and and human beings as a whole.

Oh my goodness. Do you mean that if you post about Scientology under your regular screen name you could be harassed? I know little about Scientology but this does sound horrible.
L. Ron Hubbard called it Fair Game and it is the focus of this month’s protests. Several members of Anonymous have been named, stalked by Private Investigators, stalked by Scientologists, had hot cups of coffee thrown on them, mysterious pet deaths, arrests due to false reports (charges dropped after evidence brought forth), the list goes on. All of this is well documented as Anonymous makes sure to bring their cameras, and tries to not be alone.

Our masks are essential to keeping ourselves safe as we try to help those still trapped in COS and inform the public of the atrocities that they committing.

As a victim of scientology, I heard about the thread here and wanted to support the people telling the truth about this cult. I was a 19 year old college student when I found scientology books in the religion section of my university library.

I think many of us remember being 19 and off to college and wondering who we were and what we wanted to be. Most of us wanted to save the world or at least make a difference and improve things.

Cults like scientology prey on our best young people, usually they have recruitment centers on or around college campuses. In my opinion cults like scientology are more dangerous to “good” kids than drug dealers or bars.

Here is one sad story of the 19 year old daughter of a Norwegian official who happened by a campus recruit center near her dormitory in France last month:

Forced Abortions One Of The Many Abuses From The Church Of Scientology

There is so much evidence…please look and protect your own children.

I am an irregular lurker on these forums. Since I come to listen and learn, I have never registered.

But! My sister was a member of the infamous Sea Organization for about 15 years. During that time, she was required to disconnect from virtually all family members. When she finally escaped and rejoined our family, she was a shell of the once vibrant and hopeful young woman she had once been. It was heartbreaking.

We learned that while in the Sea Org, she had been married twice. We had only known of one marriage, to a man she had been involved with and who entered Scientology with her. When he “blew” as they call it–which means that you leave the Cult without “authorization” (a routine which would require several posts to describe, but basically is a sadistic and humiliating process designed to break your spirit once and for all)–she was forced by the Cult to divorce him. She subsequently remarried to another Sea Org member, and when she finally blew, herself, he divorced her (all arranged by Cult attorneys). She was never even allowed one conversation with her husband after she left, in order to try to somehow save her marriage–she was heartbroken because she really hoped he would decide to come out with her, and she was not able to even try to convince him (he was stationed on the other side of the country when she left–btw)

I also learned that she had FIVE abortions! She is now 42 years old, single and trying to rebuild her life (it has been about 3 years now) and grieving deeply over all that was taken from her, including her lost babies.

Forced abortions and the forced disconnection from and break up of marriages and family are only the tip of the iceberg, unfortunately.

So when I saw this thread, I registered because I just could not keep quiet on this topic.

Hmmm. This is all quite frankly kind of unbelievable. BUT I’m open to the possibility that I might be convinced.

Are we to believe that the perpertrators of all this forced-abortion, human-trafficking, virtual-slave-labor, mind-control (even Satanic) cult are misguided true-beleivers?, paid staff? somehow in on the con?

I ask because this would seem to have to be the work of truly malevolent people acting in concert, and in my experience that is pretty rare. Bad actions out of machismo or fear or laziness or a sense of entitlement or even just plain stupidity are all too common, and there are sociopaths acting alone, and there are some truly evil gangs, but is this supposed to be a corporate culture of evil?

Like I said before, it almost sounds like comic-book bad guys. Do they put out want-ads for henchmen? Am I to believe there is some guy who makes a living reading this post, right now? Is this for real? Really bad cults are not all that rare but Scientology is pretty big, isn’t a secret, and the founder (who always seems to be the chief evil nut-job in these cases) has been dead for some time.

Who keeps this going? Where is the money? Are they true believers who think they really are going to save the world? I’m not sure which would be worse, a really big scam with a victim class of suckers who foot the bill, or if crazy inculcated zombies go all the way to the top. Or Is Volodymyr right and they are actually, right-here right-now for-real doing Satan’s work? and if so, do they know it?

All you Anon guests should understand that we Catholics do believe that last bit is possible.

If this isn’t just smear, then these Church of Scientology folks are literally incredible.

No, most Scientologists are idealistic, good people that have been sold (brainwashed) to believe that the only hope for humanity is Scientology. Their goal is to “clear” the planet, i.e. SAVE the planet. They justify their actions through doing “the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics”. There are 8 dynamics:
  1. self, is the effort to survive as an individual
  2. two components: sex and the family unit, including the raising of children.
  3. group. A company, a political party, a church or a social organization are all examples of the third dynamic. Church of Scientology and its front groups fall under this dynamic.
  4. species. All of the races of man together constitute the fourth dynamic.
  5. all life forms — animal or vegetable and anything directly and intimately motivated by life.
  6. physical universe and reflects the drive of the individual to enhance the survival of all matter, energy, space and time(MEST) –the component parts of the physical universe.
  7. spiritual being.
  8. existence as infinity. This is also identified as the Supreme Being. Thus, this dynamic can be called the infinity, or God, dynamic.
[Scientology think]Obviously, when you are dealing with unenlightened “wogs” (they’re term for non-Scientologists) who are hung up on that pesky little detail of their own right to choose, you have to be willing to tell a few “acceptable truths” (lies) in order to save them and and their immortal souls in order to “clear” the planet.

Back to reality, they have been pushed subtly for years into thinking that it is ok to commit small ills for the greater benefit of humanity and those in the higher echelons are more fanatical and willing to do anything they are told. The abuses start at the top (Miscavige beats on the people around him, there is testimony from many ex-scis who have seen and been subjected to this) and it trickles downhill from there. It is always justified. They believe that they are at war with Psychiatry and they have stated that these Anonymous protesters are under the employ of Psychiatry (they really do believe this).

I wish it was so, I’d like to get my check.

My answer is in response to the question of how these people can do terrible things - their “religious beliefs” are used as the platform to convince them that the terrible things aren’t so terrible if the outcome is salvation.

Scientology religious beliefs= The ends justify the means.

This only underscores my position on helping the Scientologists inside to understand that just because it helps the greatest # of dynamics, does NOT make it okay to keep suffering what their leadership is doing to them. Abuse doesn’t benefit ANY of the above dynamics.

I know little about Scientology. I do know that in the 1960’s an interesting experiment on authority was carried out that had some frightening results. If you search under the term Milgram experiments you can get better detail.

Basically, the volunteer was lied to and told that the experiment was about how well people learned when they were punished for their mistakes. Out of site of the volunteer was a trained actor. The volunteer was told by the lab technician to shock this unseen person every time he missed a question. The unseen person-actor- was not really getting shocked but would scream out in pain.

Despite expressing discomfort, most of the volunteers continued with the experiment and obeyed their orders.

The study focused on regular people but it does make one wonder how closely a person who has been brainwashed will follow an authority figure.

So Jeannie they actually beleive all this stuff. Wow. I always thought that L Ron Hubbard was a scammer, I didn’t realize that anybody actually bought into his space alien stuff.

I was trying to figure out how we get from:

“Profit-turning sci-fi cult with secret knowledge and utilitarian philosophy”

To the accusations I’m seeing in the links. I mean they own ships and have been acccused of imprisoning children in the bilges and infiltrating the IRS and putting people under long-term surveillance and running what amount to gulags. Beating up dissenters, covering up deaths, all sorts of wrong.

Then the topper - they shipped so many vanloads of young women to Planned Parenthood for abortions that PP took notice. If PP thinks something’s wrong, I figure it has to be off the charts.

And I have read Ordinary Men about how seemingly normal German policemen were transformed into mass killers. so I guess I understand that “for the cause” people can go to very depraved depths, but with the Scientologists, what is “the Cause”?

What are they trying to do? just make money? What is this “saving the world” thing that comes up? Saving from what? how? They all seem pretty vague and they speak in their own jargon and I just don’t get it.

Well, the what are they saving us from, I’m not real clear myself. The how is simple, they get everyone to join Scientology and the ones who refuse will be gotten rid of “quietly and without sorrow” (L. Ron Hubbard)

The thing is it will never make sense to those of us in more mainstream religions, because most of the religions of today have passed the growing pains of “for us or against us”. Most religions today understand that people are allowed the personal freedom to believe or criticize. Of course, there are still strange sects within every religion that take things to extremes and increasingly those sects are monitored for abuse of their parishioners and their influence in the political arena over those of us who prefer the middle ground of do unto others. The polygamist ranch is an ongoing example. And like Scientology, their abuses have been known about for over 50 years and the government is finally stepping in.

Perhaps, the internet age of instant information dispersal is making the truth about extreme groups more readily accessible to the average person and to government employees. Once you know what’s happening, you can’t un-know it. Anyone of good conscience can say this is not right and it must stop. Some of us just say it all over the internet and on street corners in front of the Scientology organizations.

Papa Squash, nobody in scientology gets to know anything about the volcano/space alien stuff until they are “ready”. Ready meaning fully indoctrinated and fully paid.

Space aliens (aka Body Thetans) are scientology beliefs and getting rid of "BT"s might be considered akin to exorcism in catholism. I don’t mean to make any judgements about anyones beliefs.

The fact that scientologists are enforced to abort, enforced to divorce and enforced to be sterilized AFTER they have signed lifetime contracts to the cult usually as young teenagers without prior knowledge and in contradiction to what the cult publicly purports to support is what I have a problem with, and I joined this board in the hope that other people like you would have a problem with it too.

only a FEW members of the Cult of $cientology are in it for the money and they are at the Very top making all the decisions. to put things into perspective, members of the Sea Org are paid about $50 a week.
by saving the world I believe it is the stopping all war/evil/cruelty committed by humans not really a stopping a apocalypse (iirc).

May God bless all of you. I posted this Call to Arms because as a Catholic ally of Anonymous I am appalled by this moral and social evil. As many posters learning of this for the first time, I found it unbelievable and horrifying.

I wanted to call Catholics to become aware of this issue. I am thrilled to see such wonderful conversation beginning. The stories ex-Scientologists have to tell are heart-breaking. Because of Anonymous more victims of the cult are finding the courage to tell their stories.

I am still looking for clergy who are interested. I also want to invite anyone who is interested in networking about how to spread the word among young Catholics is particular please pm me. Thx.

Scientology is a scary scary Cult. They scare me, and I have never even set foot in one of their buildings.

When my sister left the Cult finally, and went to stay with my parents (she was lucky in that she had lots of family outside Scientology–the one’s whose family are mostly all in it are in really trouble. It was also lucky that my parents lived in Florida so it was easy for her to get to them), they showed up at my parents doorstep within 24 hours asking for her. My sister was literally shaking in another room. My mother told me that my sister seemed so brainwashed still (even though she wanted out) that she thought that she HAD to talk to them. The stories of what people go through to get out are nightmarish.

Luckily my father jinstinctively knew what to do, and told them that under no circumstances would he reveal the whereabouts of any member of his family, that it was NONE of their business and to gtfo (and my father NEVER uses that kind of language) and if he ever saw them on his property he would shoot them himself (my father hunts, and it is probably the only time he has ever even contemplated murder in his life). They left, but they called and called for several months looking for my sister. For my sister’s piece of mind, they had another unlisted line installed and turned off the main line ringer whenever they left the house–though for about a month, they were terrified of leaving her alone, afraid that their goons would come and bully her into returning.

For insight into the character of these people, google BBC John Sweeney Panorama and watch what they did to him (the young man featured about half way through is now dead from suicide). Also see this post from a person who recently visited their super secret Int Base (notice how all the locations and titles have a para-milaterisitc style): ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/viewtopic.php?t=27279

And also this youtube: youtube.com/watch?v=kzjf2ymRy9Y (note; the goon in the video is NOT a cop and the videographer was on a public sidewalk or roadway).

Make sure to take a close look at the pictures of their “church” and the “cross” on top of it. Then google Aleister Crowley’s tarot deck and take a close note of the similarities (it is well documented that Hubbard studied Crowley’s work in the 40s and was involved in performing Satanic Rituals with a man by the name of Jack Parsons in Pasadena. It’s all on google)

How is that a so-called “religion” which has no prayer, doesn’t read any bible, says that you can believe whatever you want, and that whatever you believe is real (even though they make you believe what they want you to believe), says that Christianity and Jesus Christ are an “engram” (a kind of delusion) gets to call itself a CHURCH (isn’t a church where Christians go to worship?) and even puts a cross on top of a kind of steeple? It has hi-jacked Christian imagery and iconography right and left, while it does everything possible to undermine anything and everything Christianity stands for. If that is not blasphemy, I don’t know what is. But I guess that is the point of Satanism.

EVERYBODY MUST MUST SEE GLENN BECK TONIGHT (MAY 8) on CNN HEADLINE NEWS!!!

There is a doctor on who believes that LIFE does not begin until AGE 2!!! And that it should be legal to kill your handicapped, physically deformed or ill child prior to that age!!!

It is what I have been saying for years, the ABORTION MENTALITY will ultimately lead to a general disrespect for life.

I read an article (in Utne Reader I think) where a guy said that a fetus is not protected by the Right to Life because it doesn’t have a birth certificate. Hence, a new-born child left in a dumpster isn’t a protected human either!!!

Now someone proposes to raise the age of “real life” to 2 YEARS!!!

Watch and learn!

Morally speaking, what’s the difference between a Scientologist aborting a pregnancy and anyone else doing same?
You don’t see the difference in ENFORCED abortions,
by a “Church” no less?

errrrrrrrrrrrrr…sorry, that is disgusting.

Tory/Magoo~~~

Deeply disturbing. Hideous in fact. Why does Scientology have Sea Org anyway? It sounds like Dr Evil’s secret island with sci-fi technology designed to blackmail the world or some such hokey scheme.

And what’s with all the brand-new posters in this thread?

Welcome to CAF, by the way. May the Lord bless you and his mercy and love shine upon you.
Papa Squash, I am thrilled to know you are a prayer warrior. I haven’t known many prayer warriors since the days of the Charismatic renewal. So I request your prayers for the victims of Scientology. I find the abuses so monstrous that I really do not know how to pray for these people who suffer so greatly.

As for the new posters, this post appeared in the google news search on “scientology” so many people came and read and responded I was moved by the welcome you gave them. This is the best of Christian charity.

How radically different are the open arms of Jesus who said, “When I am lifted up I will draw all men to myself.” from Scientology’s desire to “clear the planet” of the 2.5% of people it calls suppressive persons. May God have mercy on all of us.
