Though it all seems fun and games, the article relates, “there do exist witches, warlocks and wizards and they do cast spells, study potions and practice magic.” Not content to speak in such general terms, this articles goes on to speak specifically about such practitioners today. Catholicism speaks of such practices as grave offenses against religion, this article then shows.

While there are real people who practice the occult, I doubt they wear pointy hats with stars all over them. 😉

I’m sure there are Eclectic Wiccans somewhere, perhaps who think it’s “cool” (peer pressure alert!) and tried that out.

Goodness, it’s been a couple months since someone started a thread about the evils of children’s stories. Let me pull up a chair and get some munchies.

🍿

😛

Taking this article into account, along with the increasing boldness of Satan, Halloween will become more and more, an increasingly “unpleasant” or dangerous time of year.

Such a shame really. My costumes were never evil when I was a kid. A spaceman, a superhero. It was about candy and having a good time. Now there are zombies and vampires, adults getting sloppy drunk at parities, blah blah blah.

There’s a woman in my office who is a “semi-Wiccan”. I think she was raised Catholic, but she told me that she fully believes in the power of Magick. She also said that their is both
white Magick and black Magick. I told her it was all bad and she got really mad.

I will join you. That was the first thing I thought when I saw the thread title. Yawn, here we go again.

I practiced Wicca on and off for a time many, many years ago (I was away from the Church for some 14+ years). If you had told me it was bad back then, I would’ve just rolled my eyes and said something snarky. Did you really think your comment was going to win her over to Christ? 🤷

Well, I didn’t try to win her over per se. She kept rapping about it one day and I just told her firmly that it was all bad. I mean, all those incantations and herbs she has on her desk. It’s absurd.

I think you were right to say something, but it’d be difficult for her to come around. She’d need a miracle, which exist.

I came around.

The miracle of which you speak is conversion – and it is the work of the Holy Spirit in the human heart. ❤️

Prayer and sacrifice, and being a witness to the love and joy of Christ, through life’s ups and downs… these are the things that aid in bringing God’s children back to His Heart.

Despite this, Halloween is still fun for kids.

And Santa Claus is real. (Anticipating arguments against Santa, which are also sure to appear soon.)

But the question is of which Santa Claus is the real one? The Dutch Sinterklaas, the Slavic/Hungarian/so-many-others St. Nicholas, the Finnish (something)?

As did I…Wiccans are not devil worshippers. Many are decent people. Sounds corny, but love and mercy are the best ways to bring people around.

Do they know any spells to help me stay awake at work?
There’s actually a potion known to be powerfully effective. It’s a brew from the seeds of berries of a plant native to Africa, but has been imported and found in numerous places. You roast the dried seeds, then grind them, and mix them with boiling water. Some find this easier to take with the lactate emissions from bovines. It’s best if you take this potion early in the morning.

In the vernacular, we pagans, wiccans, and the like call this potion ‘coffee’. 😃

Aaaahhhh… Coffee. My favorite little addiction. :coffee:
