This point has been raised before, and never really answered. Paar points out that they deserted him, but he does not say that they came back!! From what I have seen, Muslims stop the story where they want it to end, not where it actually ends.
**The above words of the high priest are very good. The new faith(Christianity) was not of men. It was from God. That is why it did not vanish. It was from God that is why they kept going and won the battle after about 300 years.I keep thinking about the words of the High Priest in Acts. He mentions that if this new faith (Christianity) is of men, it would vanish, but if it is from God, they should be careful lest they end up fighting God
Same is the case of Islam. It did not take 300 years to show its signs that it is from God. Within 30 years it was well established faith in the world. Thanks for quoting the wise words of the high priest.
The question of Marco polo is a multiple question. It should be broken down into sections. May be there are more than one question in one sentence. We Muslims believe that the disciples were steadfast and they openly supported Jesus in word and deed. But the bible presents a very poor picture of them, deserting Jesus.
