Hi all,

In this thread I invite all to use your imagination.

Consider, the Pope of Rome and Billy Graham (a bible only believing evangelist) having a conversation on this thread.

What kind of conversation do you believe two of the most public Christian figures in the world would have?

thank you

Pope Benedict: William, you’re a good man. I believe that God thinks highly of you, but you should really come and witness the fullness of Faith that the Catholic Church brings to the struggle.

Billy: You know You’re right. When is Mass.

Actually, I think that the conversation might focus on abortion and the fact that Billy Graham, for fear of alienating his democratic brethren (yes, he’s a lifelong democrat) never once denounce or worked against it. Knowing Bene 16, he might have to ask a little about that.

Easy,

Pope - Hey Billy nice work.

Billy - Thanks you too.

I’m pretty sure it would be pretty darn Christian!!

See the following which was written by one trying to run down Billy Graham by saying he was too close to Catholics. I don’t know how accurate it is but it at least attests that Billy isn’t anti-Catholic. jesus-is-lord.com/billy.htm

Or this one: cnview.com/on_line_resources/billy_graham_catholic_connection.htm

Or this one:

However, to imagine the conversation, I do think that Pete29 has a good educated guess. Even more than JPII, Benedict has sense that evangelization and conversion is specific. I can’t imagine that he wouldn’t at least invite BG to convert. He would do so as an act of love because BG is so well-informed. The burden for his to remain outside the Church and still be deemed “invincibly ignorant” at final judgment is tougher. BG’s saving grace might be the issue of consent. BG believes that he is an important ministry and may believe that for him to convert would be harmful to those who follow him. Maybe just wishful thinking but I think it is an impediment to BG’s conversion.

I don’t want anyone to think that I feel that Billy Graham is not a man of God, or that the pope wouldn’t respect his work. It is just I see a glaring hole in his ministry.

Just google “Billy Graham Catholic Church” and you will see how much he is hated. There are countless stories of Catholics going to hear him preach and when they told him they were Catholics he would always tell them not to leave the Catholic Church. For this he is hated by many.

thank you all,

I learned a lot from you by opening this thread,

keep this tread growing 👍

Without even reading the thread, I can already tell that it’s going to be a beautiful thread.

I love Billy Graham.

I believe that he will be a Saint when he passes.

He’s a true Christian.
