A Cure for all STD's

Correct, my mom does not even think I will stay chaste till marriage .

Perhaps part of our current societal problems is that so many of us have such low expectations of our youth. Sorry!

Somebody pointed out already that for the Shakers (relatively well-off, marvelous craftspeople and artists, and as pious and abstinent as once could wish - this didn’t exactly work out all that well.

Only because they also didn’t have sex when they were married, either. They took it too far in the other direction. The proper balance is that we are to have sex within a committed and valid marriage.

The Shakers didn’t have sex?
Hmmm. No STD’s, no out of wedlock pregnancies.
No in-wedlock pregnancies!
No children.
Extinction.

Our culture goes to the opposite extreme: sex for everybody, sex with anybody, sex with multiple partners, permanent monogamous sex, serial monogamous sex, sex for no reason, sex for any reason. Marriage not all that important. Lots of STD’s floating around. Between the STD’s and the lack of children, extinction is also possible.

That’s funny. I like it.

Although, technically, that’s not really a cure for STD. That’s more of a prevention.

A better example of a cure would be if someone had an STD and then by being in a monogamous relationship, the STD went away because of it.

But it’s still funny.
