Hi all,

Came across this video recently, It is about the Polish National Catholic Church. They say they have valid apostolic roots. Is this true? What are your thoughts? They claim to have valid sacraments and be “traditional” yet are OK with divorce and birth control.

God Bless!

How does it compare to the “one, holy, apostolic and catholic” Church? Is it “one”? Is it “holy”? Is it truly “catholic” (read: universal, irrelevant of nationality, irrespective of space and time)? Being apostolic does not necessarily mean the “true” catholic Church.

As for the validity of the sacraments, they could be but you have to check the following:
  1. form
  2. matter
  3. intent
aside from the officiating priest if ordained properly.
If not officially tied with the Bishop of Rome, then the fact that they agree with the World (abortion, etc) then they seem like wolves in the clothing of sheep.

God have mercy on their souls.

According to Wikipedia (yes, I know… not the best source, but it’s usually more accurate than not), the Polish National Catholic Church is “a Breakaway Catholic Church in dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church and has sought full communion with the Holy See although it differs theologically in several important respects.”
