I look at it this way. There are many people you can follow or admire who have positivity and the important thing to remember is that person also a moral person.
For example, I have followed a you tuber for a few years who has had a “quest for positivity”. This was his way of getting over some horrible changes in his life, by going out, talking to his camera, and vlogging about trying to stay positive when bad things happen.
It was years before he really told his story. He gained a huge following and helped people not to feel alone and to focus on hanging in with a positive attitude even when life sucks. Now his life has improved so much. Which is cool can you can see the results. Never, ever did I hear of him saying or doing anything immoral. I have no idea of his religion. But I can tell he respects himself and his fiance. He used to be a punk rocker in a successful band. I don’t know what he was like then. I didn’t follow him because of that. I only know what he was like after the band broke up and that he shared with hundreds of people how important it is to stay positive when bad things happen.
There are so many people with good messages of positivity. If this is what you see in this singer that draws you, yet you have concerns then look around elsewhere for this. It sounds like you are looking at this person as a role model in a way, because you like her positivity and talent.
I went and looked at a couple of her you tubes. In one she is obviously singing about pink vaginas, tongues, going down with the tongue, and a few other things I couldn’t follow without looking up the lyrics. I could tell this song is about a sexual acts and in praise of sex organs. I am surprised you don’t see that. She has herself and others in costumes made to look like vaginas opening and closing and at one point she wears underwear with pubic hair sticking. This is not moral.
In another video, an interview, she used the phrase mother fcking to describe herself and her freedom. I know it’s probably not in to say this, but that has to be one of the worst phrases in the world. God does not want us to talk about fcking mothers. He wants us to respect mothers and so does the church. And, no, it’s not just words.
Although I think this singer has a pretty voice, I think her talent could be put to better use. It came from God, after all. I don’t think following this singer is in step with the Catholic faith. I think you probably already knew that, but it’s hard to let go.
