Seriously. Look, I can make up a story too:
Dispacher.*** Nine one one what is your emergency?
*** Private Citizen.*** I’d like to report a car with possibly illegal plates.
Dispacher. Okay where is the car, is it is is parked or is it driving somewhere?
Citizen. No it’s parked, at the southwest corner of the lot in front of the Gladys Kravitz Center in Vigilance.
Dispacher. Okay let me transfer you to Vigilance police…
***Police. ***Vigilance police.
Citizen. I’d like to report a car with possibly illegal plates.
Dispacher. Where?
Citizen. Southwest corner of the Kravitz Center lot.
Police. Description?
Citizen. Toyota, dealer sticker from Seattle area, Washington state license plates.
Police. Okay thank you.
***Local News Anchor. ***A Seattle area child abduction case comes to happy close tonight. Eleven-year-old Saraa Amber Lindbergh was reunited with her mother after a sharp-eyed local citizen reported a car that just seemed out of place. Clark Kent has the story.
***Video. ***“Several days ago I noticed that it now had Washington plates.”
***Reporter. ***Fermat Poster wasn’t sure if he was being a busybody when he reported what appeared to be a recently-purchased car apparently from the Seattle area that got new out-of-state plates instead of California plates. Vigilance law enforcement investigated, and what they found, surprised everyone.
Vigilance Police Chief. The owner of the car was a person of interest in an ongoing abduction case in another state.
***Reporter. ***Doofus Scofflaw, according to Seattle law enforcement, was in a protracted custody dispute with his ex-girlfriend over their daughter Saraa Amber. Court documents obtained by Channel Thirteen indicated he was not to leave the state of Washington. Although Scofflaw maintains an address in Washington, Scofflaw actually resides here in California, and applying for California plates would have tipped off law enforcement. Scofflaw was ordered held without bond awaiting trial on charges ranging from abduction across state lines to paying too much for his auto insurance. Over to you.
