I find this very distressing: New Exorcism Rite The Vatican should release a document condemning the new rite.
Not true in every case.A simple layman has all the authority needed.
Absolutely true in every case. I used to think as you do. I learned by experience. I lived through occultic attack…Not true in every case.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the new Rite of Exorcism. The new rite’s theological view point has shifted, much as it did in the new Book of Blessings. The challenge is not that the new outlook is wrong, but is it effective, and it is wise to discard or shift from a form that has worked effectively for centuries.I find this very distressing: New Exorcism Rite The Vatican should release a document condemning the new rite.

No, it’s not. Jesus did not give the authority to cast out demons to all of His followers. He gave it to specific men.Absolutely true in every case. I used to think as you do. I learned by experience. I lived through occultic attack…
Satan’s only authority is obtained through LIES. Jesus Christ has all the authority. In union with Jesus, we have the authority.
When we make deliverance into a power encounter, it is because we are deceived by the father of lies. That’s what the devil wants us to believe. He wants to intimidate us and have us jumping all sorts of hoops. He wants us to believe we’re dealing with some high powered spirit, ad nauseaum. All lies.
He has no power. He is a defeated enemy, defeated at the cross. His best is insignificant before the power of of God. If he sticks around when we say get lost in Jesus’ name, it’s because he has some legal right to be there, such as a curse, resentment or sin.
We have to seek the Lord for discernment on how to proceed sometimes, but we have all the power that is needed.
I learned by reading the book above and studying Theophostic (seminar or video/DVD’s). I wouldn’t expect anyone to reverse their opinion based on hearsay like this column, but I put the information out there so those in need can use a search engine and find it.
Well, was the exorcism working?Every Diocesian Bishop should assign an exorcist, he does not have too. I believe there aren’t more than 20 exorcists in the US at this moment, but have heard that Italy has ~300.
An Exorcist I’ve met said that a fellow Exorcist had mentioned that once during an Exorcism the demon present taunted the Priest for using the New Rite saying it was ineffective… Then he remembered this was coming from the Father of lies.
And who would that man be?No, it’s not. Jesus did not give the authority to cast out demons to all of His followers. He gave it to specific men.
Can you cite any Church document that says that a priest is *never *necessary, that we have *everything *needed to exorcise?
So, you’re protestant. Need to correct your profile. A Church document that contradicts your interpretation of Scripture, an interpretation that is shared by those who have twisted the Scriptures since their founding which, hint hint, was not by Jesus.Rather than wasting time searching for a church document that contradicts Scripture, which I have enough confidence in the papacy to feel fairly confident you won’t find, why don’t you read one of the books I recommended and learn to do some useful ministry?
More wisdom and prayer in our homes, churches and communities would be very useful to our churches.
Mark 16:17-18–authority over demons to all believers
