I found myself in a predicament not too long ago. so i prayed the our lady of mount caramel novena and the problem got better for sometime, then the problem got worst. I asked several good friends what I should do and they all told me to give up.

Frankly if i was not a Christian and I would have given up because the problem seemed impossible. , so I decided to pray the 54day novena and the Sacred heart of Jesus Novena. I started both on 06/16/08 asking Mother Mary to intercede for me and ask God to please help me and grant my request.

On Thursday 06/19/08 I prayed both Novena’s and went to bed. I had a dream where I had a similar problem and a woman in my dream laid her hand around me in a comforting way and said “You will get---- soon”

I woke up Friday morning and it was like God had lifted a ton off my shoulders. I felt so calm, worry free. It was by far the coolest feeling I have ever felt in my life. After that moment i knew God heard my prayers and will do whats best for me. I am even more convinced given up is not an option for me and am positive I’ll God will grant my request.Even if i dont get my request am POSITIVE I’ll get something alot better.

God is great!!!

GLORY TO GOD!

He hears the prayers of his faithful servants and maybe you had to get to that point where you were able by grace to pray the way you did. Otherwise you may not have done so. His Word says ‘my grace is sufficient’. You saw his grace and mercy poured out for you.

James, I am SO happy that you did NOT listen to the above “advice”. And that you kept your faith… and persevered! Perseverence in the Faith is a virtue… and the Holy Spirit certainly showed this to you.

There is a beautiful soul at our Church. He always shows up for Adoration. He is one of God’s special souls. I am always struck with awe, when we meet him… because he never fails to smile, warmly shake our hands and say “NEVER GIVE UP!”.

God bless you! 🙂

What a wonderful testimony! I sometimes think that people who tell us to give up during prayer are like the people in St. Elizabeth’s day who thought she would never get married!

Here is an excerpt from The Secret of the Rosary about the power of the Rosary and the need for perseverance that reminds me of your story. **Secret of the Rosary ** montfort.org.uk/Writings/Rosary.html
**Thirty-First Rose:**Blanche of Castille-Alphonsus VIII
Blanche of Castille, Queen of France, was deeply grieved because twelve years after her marriage she was still childless. When Saint Dominic went to see her he advised her to say her Rosary every day to ask God for the grace of motherhood and she faithfully carried out his advice. In 1213 she gave birth to her eldest child, Philip, but the child died in infancy.
The Queen’s fervor was nowise dulled by this disappointment; on the contrary, she sought Our Lady’s help more than ever before. She had a large number of Rosaries given out to all members of the court and also to people in several cities of the Kingdom, asking them to join her in entreating God for a blessing that this time would be complete. Thus, in 1215, Saint Louis was born–the prince who was to become the glory of France and the model of all Christian Kings…
