The Franciscans in Preston, England, organised a Eucharistic flash mob in the centre of Preston on Ascension Thursday

Thank you so very much for sharing. I have not seen this before.

Good way to get people thinking.

The Catholic Church will never re-evangelize the West if we don’t start making more bold, public proclamations of the Gospel such as this.

What an excellent way for me to start my Sunday. Thank you for sharing!

Agreed. I would love to see this happen more! What a beautiful way to invite people to encounter Jesus… I remember even before I knew anything about the Real Presence that I encountered God in a very deep way in front of the Eucharist.
Another similar initiative is Nightfever. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to take part a few times and it is amazing how many people are open to seeking God if they are just given that invitation to do so.

What a wonderful way to respond in a profession of Faith.
I have never seen this, and wish there were occasions like this in North America.

This is actually illegal in UK without a permit to preach publicly.

Thank you for posting this. It made my morning.

I pray for all those who were there, that hearts were touched and that His Word, which goes forth, will not return void, but will accomplish that which it was sent to do.

Jesus, bring the world into your love.

Some of the looks on some of the faces on the bystanders led me to believe SOME were starting to think…a few seemed hesitant to leave as well, but then did anyway.

I wondered about the outcome for some of them.

There is no law against preaching on the streets of the UK. Preachers may be in violation of the law if they are found to be inciting hatred, causing an obstruction, or preaching on private property without permission (e.g. in a privately owned shopping centre).

Yet, only one complaint, by one claiming to feel hated, makes the Gospel illegal there.
