A Faith question

If there is only one person left in the world who believes in Christ is the church still not alive?
Would Christ have sacrificed His life for my salvation even if I were the only human who had ever believed?
If they have false ideas about Christ, then is it really Christ they believe in? Many so-called “Christians” believe all kinds of weird things - many even deny that He is God.

For argument’s sake, suppose someone names his watchdog “Jesus” and then goes around proclaiming that Jesus protects him - is he saved? Is he a Christian?

This is the situation of many who are outside the Church, but who call themselves “Christians.” Their ideas about Him are so unlike Him as to be unrecognizable. This is why we need a faithful Church to safeguard the deposit of the faith, with the constant support of the Holy Spirit.

I did mean “conquered” argh!
I was being obnoxious. We all believe Christ died and none of us believe Christ was conquered.
It seems to me that Christ’s church could die and yet not be conquered.

The Church is dying and rising again all the time. And just like Jesus, she rises again in the same body in which she died, scars and all. The Church established by Christ upon Peter is still here, and still with Him in her Eucharist every moment of every day.
