This morning’s Divine Office prayed the verses from the book of Tobit, 13:8-11, 13-15. I always loved this prayer, for many years ago, God helped me to understand something profound in these two verses:
  1. Blessed shall they be that shall build thee up.
  2. Blessed are all they that love thee and that rejoice in thy peace.
These are worded a little differently than the D.O., and I prefer my bible’s wording much better. Anyway, after I noticed that it is THEY who are doing the loving, and THEY who shall build thee up, that are considered “blessed” … NOT the one who IS loved or built up.

I asked God what is the condition of those who are receivers of another’s “loving” and “building up?” Are they not blessed by this? I am happy to share His answer, “One sows, another reaps - BOTH rejoice TOGETHER at the harvest.”

This has always been a special scripture to me, and I just wanted to share it with you, dear reader, after seeing it in the D.O. this morning. 🙂 John 4:37
