Theodora’s post referrenced the Jerome Biblical
Commentary. Who am I to argue with these
scholars!
I keep in mind that, for the ancient Israelites,
“satan” was seen as the “adversary”…see the
Book of Job.
The only thing I can figure in all of this, is that
later Christian commentators saw a second,
equally valid, meaning in this Psalm.
I’ll look for a commentary on this Psalm in
Judaic sources.
