So long story really short.

Spoke to the priest, and let me get everything, all my past sin off my chest because I needed to. Obviously it wasnt sacremental as I am not Catholic, but he knew I needed to, so he sat and listend. OH MY GOD did it feel good, yes I broke down, but afterwards I felt what I was scared I wouldnt ever feel; that feeling of forgiveness!

I have since taken to praying the rosary daily, which when not using i wear round my neck, I feel slightly naked without on now. I have also signed back up and await being able to start RCIA again.

The question today being…What do in this time I am waiting to start?

Learn as much as you can about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his Holy Mother, and pray.

And try to be like Jesus.

Continue praying…the Rosary, and I would recommend, the Divine Mercy chaplet…after the rosary when you have time…it takes only about 5 minutes.

Attend Benediction and Eucharistic adoration, if available in the parish you are going to…just inquire at the parish office.

And most importantly…attend Mass…on Sunday especially…and any day you can. Just keep in mind, do not receive communion yet. 👍

Fantastic OP.

Great to hear.

When I teach about confession in high school I always talk about my own experiences and about how, when I finish confession, I don’t walk out the church I float out as I feel so good and as if burdens have been lifted.

As has already been said keep praying the rosary (praying it, not just saying it. With the help of the rosary and saying the correct mysteries on the correct days, each week is a journey with Christ and each weekend is a mini Easter), try reading the Bible and catechism but don’t get overloaded with too much reading.

**Watch lots of the Journey Home! All conversion stories, some laity and some priests, some pastors leaving their whole world to become Catholic.
As a convert myself, I’ve always loved listening and watching conversion stories.

You can watch a lot of them on Youtube. Go to EWTN. They have many many there…
It will fire you up for RCIA as well…

Congratulations, and WELCOME HOME!!!

I am anticipating my first confession. My husband & I are not on the traditional RCIA schedule; since my husband and I have been in Evangelical ministry for years and we came into the Catholic church in December, our RE Director has been meeting with us separately, which has been amazing! We are nearly finished and are just waiting on my husband’s nullification so we can be confirmed. It has been really hard to wait to take communion, especially since it was never a big deal in our Protestant days, but I understand the reasons and still attend Mass and spiritually take in the Eucharist.

In the time before we are confirmed, my husband and I have been reading and studying the lives of the saints, the writings of church fathers, and the Catholic Bible. I don’t know your familiarity with the Bible, but I strongly recommend you read through the entire Bible (over and over–we can never read it enough to mine the riches of its depths). I am nearly done reading the Diary of Saint Faustina and this has been one of the most meaningful texts I’ve ever read. The lives of the saints and martyrs are incredibly inspiring and the writings of Sts. John of the Cross, Francois de Sales, JPII, Terese, etc. provoke me to deeper faith.

I have a subscription to Magnificat and my husband bought a Missal and the Liturgy of the Hours. We each pray both morning and evening prayers daily; my husband says the rosary daily, as well as the Chaplet of Divine Mercy; and I pray the Chaplet several times a day. The Magnificat has transformed my spiritual life by giving me consistent readings and praying of the scripture, prayers, devotionals written by Catholic greats from all time periods, articles on religious art, and biographies of saints. :coffeeread:

I hope that this gives you some ideas! Whatever you do, work on establishing a daily routine of Scripture reading & prayer and attend Mass as often as allowable with your schedule. I wish you all the best & may God bless all of your efforts.:blessyou:

Good job!👍

Pray, go to mass, read, stay clean and sober.
