A friar and a tattoo

I have a random question that came to my mind.

What if there is a friar who has a tattoo from his younger years that he cannot stand and wants removed? Would it be impossible since he took a vow of poverty and would have no money?

The Mendicant Orders (friars) were founded on personal and corporate poverty. During the period of decline and reformation in the Church around 1370-1500, the corporate (Order-wide) mendicancy was dropped by the most prominent orders of friars. Dominicans abandoned total mendicancy in 1475 (I think), and the Franciscans kept their palaces in Italy. The Order itself might pay for a fully-professed friar to have his tattoo removed, but only if his superior thought it helpful. There’s no point wasting funds, which are often tight, if it won’t do any good!

It’s also possible that some lay person might spring for the procedure or a professional that does tattoo removal might donate their services.
