I wouldn’t be so quick as to say that the UN is okay to have around because of the few good things they do.
The peopla keeping the peace in Liberia are doing so under the name “UN” I am glad that they are keeping the peace.
However, the problem with the UN is that they never understand the internal affairs of the country they “keep the peace” in. The UN is made up of people from many countries most of which have never been to Liberia.
The danger is that we have put our trust in a organization as large and powerful as that.
I do not believe the UN is good because of a few good things.
People I know that go to those “peace keeping” jobs would rather not serve under the UN.
If this doesn’t make sense, consider this…I do not like government. The only job of a government it to protect it’s people from threats, both foriegn and domestic. The UN can do this only because of willing people, however, the fact that the UN is trying to pass laws and a different adgenda, is dangerous. The UN was meant to be an alliance however it is turning into a “government” where it’s political members are assimilating their ideas and taking on policies in the name of worldly solutions and ideals.
here can truely be no king but Jesus Christ.
The UN and world governments are as the Tower of Babel…their speech must be confused by God that they may not continue in error. When ignorance reigns life is lost…
