A future Jewish King from the Davidic line

As Jews rejected Jesus, they are still waiting for the Messiah. One of the requirements is that he has to be from the Davidic line.
If any Jew says: I’m the Messiah, how can such a person prove to be from the Davidic line? Is it possible after all those centuries?

I was reading info about the Jewish Messiah

and another interesting thing I found was that Jews mix up this world with the future world (why?). On one hand:
The ruined cities of Israel will be restored and All Israelites will be returned to their homeland, but on the other hand: Death will be swallowed up forever and There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease.
Jews also despise non-Jews: Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (it looks like Jews will not have to recognize wrongs they did to other nations) or: The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (nobody else?).

I obviously know what to think of it but I’m just curious how Jews understand it. God bless.
 
To say that “Jews despise non-Jews” is a very dangerous generalization. I doubt very much if you will find much support from any Jews for that statement regardless of what “authority” (Wikipedia??) you found it.

If you are interested in this subject, why not go to your local synagogue and ask the Rabbi what it is you want to know?

Can you imagine the amount of misguided information about Catholicism that someone who is “curious” can find online–on this site alone there is some really wacky untruths being spouted-- sorry everyone, but its true.

Go to a human authority on the subject of your interest and get some valid answers to your questions.

Well, yes, what you think of it would seem to be obvious. Based on that, I’d have a hard time understanding why a Jew would respond to your question.

You are spreading falsehoods, as examples of Jews who do not despise non-Jews abound. Frankly, I know quite a number of Jews. I’ve never met one who despised me, nor Catholics, nor Gentiles in general. If anything, their running joke between them is how Jews seem to despise* themselves*, but that is another topic.

By the way, how did you get the idea that Jews despise non-Jews? Do you know a single Jew who hates you? If not, where did that come from? It seems an odd idea for a Christian to embrace.
 
Our geneologies were kept in more places than just the temple. Kinda like your family bible, by looking at it you know your roots.

Just go on any Jewish forum as I’ve done, they don’t even want to know you and the things they say about Christ are disgusting. Maybe he means this kind?

Yes, indeed, they should mirror the personal openness and enthusiasm for listening to the beliefs and ideas of members of non-Christian religions that a paragon of such virtue, like your good self, constantly displays.

On a scientific side note, it has been discovered that the Levitical line carries a number of unique genetic markers on the Y chromosome, particularly among the Kohanites. They reside in a section of the Y chromosome that is not very susceptible to mutation, and has remained unchanged for thousands of years. Hebrew DNA in general also contains a number of unique markers that have been preserved to this day. Descendants of the old priesthood can be and have been verified quite easily, and I’m sure descendants of David could be also.

We have something now called DNA.

They have proven through DNA that the Jews who claim to be Kohanim (descendants from the priestly families), DO in fact have the genetic marker for that.

DNA can and is being used for genealogical purposes today in ways before thought unimagineable.

Thank you, I was just about to comment on that!

Its NOT true that Jews despise non-Jews. Since many Jews are converts to Judaism, or come from families that are half-Jewish, or otherwise have nonJews in their families, that would mean they would have to hate their own families!

I will say, however, that given the very long history of persecution, murders and other abuses done to Jews by professing Christians, any hatred would be justified.

But we believe in praying for our enemies, and forgiving them when possible…which is why, during the Passover Seder, we have a part that memorializes the Egyptian firstborn who died.

I don’t hate Jesus, because for one, it is doubtful he even existed.

How can someone hate what never existed, in their view (and evidently, from the view of history as well)?

And even if some Jews DO hate the idea which is Jesus, I’d think that the long, terrible history of persecutions of Jews by professing Christians might have played some role in that, d’ ya think?

WHY would someone want to convert people they hate to their religion? Wouldn’t that bring them in closer proximity to the hated persons?

That always mystified me about Catholic antisemites in history, such as Tomas De Torquemada, Ferdinand and Isabella and the like.

If they HATE Jews and don’t LIKE us, WHY try to bring us CLOSER by making us join YOUR religion? :confused:

Why is it always the Jews suffer so much in the world and nobody else? 🤷 Shall I count the numerous Christians who died for defending their faith, became martyred for the faith? Christians were thrown to the lions on just one occasion in history, they are being killed TODAY all over the world!!
Just a few weeks ago, priests from Turkey and Iraq were murdered. So don’t tell me about the Jews who were persecuted over the centuries. It is wrong and a horrible thing but others suffered just as much if not more. I feel for everyone.

I don’t think he hates us, I just think he hates the fact that we just don’t do what we’re told and that we’re very, very naughty indeed by being so ‘in his face’ about it.

“Naughty Jews, naughty, naughty Jews!”
 
This is totally absurd to say I hate the Jews. Far from the truth.
Sorry you don’t like what I say. I need to defend Christ and that’s that.
