A Good Confession

Yesterday I went to confession before the 12:10pm daily mass. I offered up my usually sins that I struggle with. It was ten minutes before mass was to begin and the priests tells for my penance one hail Mary, one Our Father, the act of Contrition and reflect for five minutes on the good God has done for me. Since then that five minutes has now stretched into hours of reflection and joy. It was the best thing I’ve been told to do after confession.

What is your favorite thing a priest told you to do?
 
That is wonderful. Thank you for your sharing. I wish I could share the secret of my penances; however, I am learning to take everything my confessor tells me as if Jesus tells me - then everything that he says becomes my favorite. I am sure some favorites would be hard to take. I am very joyful to have a very holy confessor who is also my Spiritual Director.

Always pray for your confessor.
 
Stop trying to logically figure out how God could love and forgive a lowly sinner like me and accept he knows all of me, forgives me and loves me even when I don’t feel worthy of that love.
