Is there a good Eastern Catholic prayerbook that I can pray my rule from?

I don’t mind my Orthodox book, but I’d love to use one that is used by other Eastern Catholics.

Is it permissible for us to pray from Orthodox prayerbooks? It looks like morning and evening prayers, akathists and canons are the same, no?

Yes. I have used and know many others (Eastern Catholics) who have used, for example, The Jordanville prayer book.

Wonderful. The book I’ve always used was given to me as a gift, and is hard to find. It has English prayers on one side, and Ukrainian on the other. I very much prefer it.

This has been very helpful, thank you!

Absolutely! I usually pray from the appendix of the Orthodox Study Bible, which has a good selection of prayers.

For nearly the last decade, that’s been my preferred Bible, because it’s so eastern. I like it even more than the ignatius Study Bible, I daresay! (shh, don’t tell my Roman friends.)

I’m an Easterner, I can’t help it. 🙂

You may well be right about current status, Vico. Last year, I bought a copy of this reprint from the Byzantine Seminary Press online store, but do not see it listed on the site at present.

This is a reprint of the prayer book originally published by Alleluia Press (collaboration with +Archbishop Joseph Raya).

I have a copy of the Byzantine Book of Prayer, 1995 edition. It has credits Baron Jose de Vinck and the Alleluia Press from the first edition (which was in 1977).

There is a similar book (but spiral bound 366 pages) “Prayer Book - In Accordance With the Tradition of the Eastern Orthodox Church” published 2011 by Saint Arseny Press - available All Saints of Alaska Orthodox Church.
