A great task - Bible advice needed

Once the debate moves beyond the bible, getting to know the Early Church Fathers will help too. They are like the atom bomb when you are debating protestants. Especially the ones who do not believe John 6 was literal, like the Calvinists.

Anybody who would try to debate YOU would be sent away licking his wounds for a long time. Not a good thing in a marriage.

I still have the Inquisition thread bookmarked where you locked the question up in a series of serene, well-researched posts that left the opposition trembling and powerless.

No, I certainly wouldn’t pull that type of discussion with my dear husband. You are right that is not a good thing between spouses regardless of winners or loosers.

Get the book by Patrick Madrid, Search and Rescue: How to Bring Your Family and Friends Into, or Back Into, the Catholic Church. Wonderful beginners book. I love it.

That was the best Inquisition thread EVER. I remember reporting you to the moderators – suggesting that they package all your posts on that thread and publish them as a book! OUTSTANDING effort. And your turn-around time to each challenge was nanoseconds! I am still in awe of your work on that thread.

Here is a link to the same program in MP3 format which you can copy to CD to listen to them away from your computer, but they are not listed in order, so use the ewtn link to find the order to listen to them - Our Fathers Plan

(I emailed EWTN and they said that it was ok to copy them to CD to listen to for personal use.)

I have copied them and listen to them when I drive (I drive a truck) and have listened to it several times, everytime I listen to it, I learn something new. I also have the Video set, which I loan out to friends.

Even if you are not Catholic, this is a very good series to help you get the “big picture view” of the bible, it really puts all the stories of the bible into context of the salvation plan of God.
