What is so good about the Catholic Church is that it plays the devil’s advocate to apparitions, discoveries of ‘ancient’ manuscripts, plaques, artifacts, reflecting its commitment to the truth and full deposit of Jesus Christ.
There are remains under the altar of Ss. Peter and Paul, the burials and injuries fitting the manner of death. But it is not proven.
Many other times, the common laity has true faith in a seer, but it takes time for the ecclesiastics to verify.
