I am not really expecting there ever be an agreement. As it goes with human nature, humans have long had their sqabbles, you even see it in the bible.
I think if innovations hadn’t been added to the OF (i.e.remained ad orientem, in latin, without modern music and instruments) it probably is a “middle ground” liturgy on the spectrum of what there is today.
My preference is for the EF and if the interest in it is growing organically then I hope there will be more availability for it, though I normally attend the OF. I’m not expecting that we will ever go back to the days of just one form of mass anytime soon. Though I do think matters of reverence for the Eucharist and liturgical abuse need addressing at the very least.
