I do have a problem with evolutionary model of creation. Because it doesn’t exist. God created man from the dust of the earth and it is stated in so many place to count. Science is also a bunch of hogwash. A bunch of people getting paid to make up stories to get money and worldly things. If God hadn’t told us how man formed back in the day of the OT then the Genesis is false and Charles Darwin is right. Again I refuse to believe anything that scientific or biblical that comes from an athiests or agnostic’s mouth. They don’t believe in God or don’t know weather one exist. Why should I believe in that hogwash?? I want to know how evolution exists when God already told us the story of creation? He didn’t tell us the story of evolution. He never said we evolved from other creatures. It would been well documented. Yes one cannot rely on scripture alone, but majority of the Catholic faith is based on on what the Bible teaches us and what the Apostles passed down from Christ to us. Certainly one would have had this theory before Darwin who created this theory
I’m* not* trying to convince you of evolution. But I am trying to get you to see why Popes and Christians can reconcile evolution with the Sacred Bible. How evolution is not opposed to faith.

Science is a gift from God, that we should reasonably understand our world. Many scientists are Christians!

Well its hard to prove evolution true using the Sacred Scriptures.

Just because something isn’t in the Bible doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

For example:

Was George Washington the 1st president of the United States? No because its not in the Bible. But it IS in history books.

Is the molecular structure of water H20? No because its not in the Bible! But it IS in science books.

If a truth was required to be “in the bible” to be true, then the Bible would be 100,000 volumes thick.

I need to make another point…
God gave us a clear definition on how everything was created. Was George Washington the first president of the United States? Yes, but he wasn’t the first leader of the nation. There were early leaders for the new nation, but the Presidency was created for George Washington. Again I believe science is hogwash. The truth is in the Bible. We aren’t to know all truth, just what God gives us in regards of his will not your will George Washington’s will or Charles Darwin’s will. George Washington didn’t give his whole life to follow Christ and Darwin didn’t know weather God existed. Washington believed in God and the teaching of Christ. Not everything is or isn’t in the Bible for a reason. We are to live according to God’s will and follow him. He meant that we aren’t to distort his word, but yet he gave us tradition as well. Distorting his word is saying that God didn’t create man out of dust. How does evolution disprove God?? Nothing can disprove God.

Absolutely correct - in fact the entire Western Civilization and its original scientific insights all came predominantly from scholars and merits of the Catholic Church.

What a lot of people don’t know is that The Big Bang theory came from Georges Henri Joseph Édouard Lemaître - a Belgian Roman Catholic priest, honorary prelate, professor of physics and astronomer at the Université catholique de Louvain. He sometimes used the title Abbé or Monsignor.

Science used to the pursuit of objective truth is in PERFECT harmony with Christianity and Catholic belief.

Evolution cannot disprove God, nor does it seek to. God is not its focus.

What I’m saying is this…it doesn’t have to be written in the Bible to be true. God did give us an account of creation. I would argue along with top Catholic scholars that Creation is *what *we are, and why we are. We are from the dust of the earth-that is in no conflict with evolution. The Bible is not meant as a science book. that is my whole point. God created water–yes. The Bibledoes not say He combined Hydrogen and Oxygen to do so, but we know it is so. Likewise, God created man from the dust of the earth. The Bible does not say mans body evolved from lower animalia, but we know it to be so. no conflict with the
Bible.

In fact the creation story gives two differing acounts of creation in genesis, both poetry, true, but poetry.

another point, NONE of us knows if God exists, we believe He does. It is by Faith, if we knew so, then faith is no longer faith.

You claim this while using your computer?
If it weren’t for man computers wouldn’t exist. It’s not if it weren’t for science computers wouldn’t exist. Science is just a bunch of meaningless theories, some work and some don’t

Computers work because of science and math. Penicillin works because of science. Space programs work because of science and math. Science brings you electricity. The reason you can expect to live a lot longer than people did a few hundred years ago is science. And on and on and so forth…

Ok. How I see 1 and only account of creation in the Book of Genesis, what the other??? We do have proof that God exist. He continually reveals himself to us. He revealed himself to Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Mary. He sent his only son and there is proof of Christ. There has been proof of Christ while celebrating the Eucharist when the bread became flesh and the wine became blood. This an actual event.

I challenge you to show proof that bread and wine become flesh and blood. Physical scientific proof. Can’t be done, and doesn’t need to be done for the Eucharist to be exactly what it is intended to be.

No Christ determines everything about your life. If you live 25 years or 100 years. Science doesn’t make you live longer. Man’s intellect is how we have electricity and computers and so forth. Everything known to man (material and resources) came from God not science.

If you believe that I can’t argue with you any longer, other than to say that man uses science to achieve these things.

Try to replicate that at your next Mass.
It something that just isn’t going to happen or replicated at your ordinary mass especially if you are expecting it. These events happen according to God’s grace and not by our standards

Eh, if you want to consider this under the evolutionary theory, which contrary to what most catholics on this blog might think is incompatible with Church doctrine, then the gift of immortality, which is preternatural (beyond nature), could not be given to a being without a rational soul, therefore not human, therefore not Adam and Eve yet.

So the animals died like every animal dies.

Though to leave things clear, I am not of the evolutionary theory because the way it is described in the Bible is more beautiful, therefore more probable that this is the way it was, because God does things with beauty since He is Beauty.

To not be of the evolutionary theory because the biblical poem is more beautiful and thus to conclude that because of its beauty is probably the way things happened, is a poor reason for overlooking the facts

It is not for its poem my friend, it is a big theoligcal principle.

Take for example Our Lady. In the Bible it says very little about her. Yet St. Alphonsus if I am not mistaken says that when we think about her virtues and graces, we must think that it it exists and it is convenient, then she must have had it. If St. Antonio Maria Claret had the permanent presence of the Holy Eucharist with in him, then Our Lady must have had it.

I apply this theory to the theology of beauty, saying that God does things with beauty because He is Beauty.
Now comparing God creating a creature directly that is to be His ancestor as to creating a monkey that eventually He infused a soul, one is much more beautiful than the other.

But like the Pope has been speaking a lot recently, the theology of beauty is seen very superficially, when it is the most effective today.

I’m sorry, while I agree that God is beauty, I cannot concede to your argument that evolution is not because you say creationism might be more beautiful. That is not an adequate reason for ignorance of the overwhelming pile of evidence that has convinced even our own Popes!
