Daniel 2 refers to a kingdom that God would set up in the last days that would destroy all other kingdoms, and itself endure forever. We believe that that kingdom refers to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

On the other hand, if you would like to really be a student of the Bible then it would be well to go ahead and look up Daniel 2 and read about Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and its interpretation. You will find in verses 42 and 43 the words “the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever…and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.”

Then it will be well to wonder how this would be accomplished–how it shall “break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms.” You may want to cross reference Revelation 17:14 and understand that John saw some of the same things that Nebuchadnezzar saw and that Daniel saw as he described in Daniel 7:27. It will begin to be apparent that the triumph of the “saints of the most High” is a spiritual triumph but also the triumph of good and righteousness over Babylon and its influences. To be “on the side” of the “saints of the most High” is to be on the side of the Lamb, and “the Lamb shall overcome” through “they that are with him” and “are called, and chosen, and faithful.” (Rev. 17:14)

Righteousness and the power that comes from that righteousness (including the righteous use of priesthood and its blessings, but also the righteousness of every righteous person on the earth who is a follower of the Lamb) will grow in the world as “the stone” “cut out of the mountain without hands”, and the weaknesses and falsehoods of Babylon will be exposed as those weaknesses are understood and the triumph of the Lamb is completed.

So the use of the words “break in pieces” and “consume” show that Babylon will be broken up, splintered, and many of those who had been led by “kings of the earth” will have recognized the rightful King and become spiritually strong enough to leave the influences of Babylon and gain the strength and power of the Lamb as He brings about the peace of the Millenium.

Peace to all who seek to follow the Lamb, the King of Israel, and may they bring peace to those around them in the world.

If you are inclined to try and understand the use of the word “Babylon” by John when talking about the vision he had of the history of the world including a symbol of unrighteousness and of covetousness that he described as Babylon, you could look up Jeremiah 51:6-13.

Babylon is a symbol, not a modern city, in the Book of Revelation.

Too often people misinterpret revelation to only be referencing future events. It’s clearly not, sure it has some in it, but not the bulk of it, a big part happens to be about the celebration of the Catholic mass if you want to look for a more true interpretation of it, this stuff your elders won’t want you to know about. Don’t feel so bad, it happens in most protestant beliefs as well, they are also way off with much of it due to that latter tidbit also, and trying to make sense of it, you get all of these wild interpretations that have no basis in fact, nor what it was written for.

How do the mormons know that this particular set of verses were not tainted as they claim much of the scriptures were? Of course, if it supports their ideas of “truth” then it is not tainited. If it contradicts their idea of “truth” then it has been tainted.

There are also quite a few Jews that hate Christianity and think that it is a threat to traditional Judaism, are you one of them?

I’ve never seen a “traditional” Jew defend Christianity from blatant lies on this forum except once and it a was half hearted attempt, I have seen some of them verbally attack Christianity many times.

The Jews that defend Christianity on this forum are Catholic Jews and Christian Jews.
