Psalm 63 A longing for God
Psalm 63: Verse 2 O God, you are my God _ for you I long!

This psalm expresses the relationship between God and the worshipper.
It would be nice to pray before Mass.

It is part of the Liturgy of the Hours, prayed during morning prayer on solemnities and during the four week cycle.

-Tim-

When privately praying the Office For the Dead from the Liturgy of the Hours , we find that longing for the Lord also comes up in Evening Prayer in Psalm 130 (also known as the De Profundis) :
“My soul is waiting for the Lord, I count on his word. My soul is longing for the Lord more than watchman for daybreak . . .”
It always causes me to reflect on how much the holy souls in Purgatory must long for the Lord ; I see “daybreak” as a possible analogy for the Light of Heaven.

We would definitely have to be on the right track if we find ourselves “longing” for the Lord
