Argument of the Month is a great apostolate of primarily laymen. Once a month they have a speaker or a few come in to give a talk and have a debate. It’s accompanied by food, and the whole thing is a pretty down-to-earth atmosphere.

AOTM director Kent Wuchterl is interviewed by Remnant TV. I’m sharing this in one respect because I think men are harder to convince in the first place, and also for a good Catholic man it can sometimes feel like you’re alone.

You got that right, it took me a long time to be convinced myself. My wife’s Anglican parish has a men’s breakfast club. It’s the closest thing in my area though I’ve never attended.

As for feeling alone in the faith, it’s a sad testament to our circumstances when I feel more affinity with, and receive more understanding from the Muslims in my workplace than the secular French Canadians that are the majority here. For instance they show me great respect if they come to my cube on a matter but I’m reading a minor office from my breviary. They always whisper “I’ll come back later”. The rest don’t even have a clue what I’m doing.

Although one other practicing Catholic came out of the closet when he saw me with my breviary

Did he call it a “Bible”? I get that when I have to carry a missal or breviary anywhere, haha.

The Muslim did, but the Catholic who saw me apologized and said “sorry I see you’re in your breviary, I’ll come back later”. Which gave him away as a bit more than just a nominal Catholic. As it turns out he’s quite involved in his parish.
