Yes, you’ve read right. There are now those who think that if a man does not wish to be a father, the woman he impregnated through an act of consensual sex should be forced to have an abortion. While the pro-death movement has not embraced this proposition with complete openness yet, it is a logical step for them. Obviously, they would like to make abortion the default “choice” whenever a woman gets pregnant. That way, more people will be able to enjoy a life of unhindered hedonism and materialism.

How interesting! See, that would open up the door to a man’s right to choose for a woman NOT to have an abortion. There may be less, but there are men out there hurt by the abortions their girlfriends or wives had against their will. Does the pro-death camp really want to open up THAT can of worms?

Gee…there is already a way for the man who doesn’t wish to be a father to not become one…it’s called abstinance!

Well suffering s@#t!!! I can just envision the lawyers having a picnic parade in the bloody courts with selfish ignoramus men wanting control over his wife’s or girlfriends body because he had his sexual fun with her but now wants no responsibility for his animalistic behavior. Gee; what the hell is next in this savage world. Talk about the worst of the worst evils in society.

But I strongly think such men would be fighting a losing battle in a Man’s Right To Choose unless a woman doesn’t care.

This is interesting. Does the child really belong to it’s mother. The great ancient icon of religion and myth. This strikes at the heart of the moral construct of the feminist movement that weaved the womans right to abort. " It’s my body"

I think it boils down to “LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!” 😉

I’m as pro-life as they come, but sorry gentlemen, your choice ends when you unzip your pants.

China is a fine example of what happens when women are forced to abort and look at the mess they’re in.

The reality is, if a man gets a woman pregnant and she decides to get an abortion then its really the man’s fault for shaggin a woman with such low morals.

This sort of thing should be a wake up call to all men to keep themselves abstient until marriage.

THIS above hazanga **^^^ ** is why we, as so-called “civilized human beings,” http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/ponyguy/facepalmsmiley.gif are headed to Hell in a supercharged hotrod…

Jesus Christ just cannot get back here soon enough… and when He does, the scenes from Sodom and Gomorrah will look like a pleasant Sunday afternoon picnic by comparison. :banghead:

It is more complicated than that. People change. Circumstances change. A woman that would not have aborted a child could be thrust into circumstances or some physiological change that changes her into a woman that would.

Isn’t the abstinence argument a double standard? Isn’t that the failed argument against a woman’s right to abort her child? If she doesn’t want a child she should not have sex.

I see the OP’s question as a method to expose the hypocricy that the body of an unborn child is legally bound to the body of it’s mother, therefore hers to do with what she wishes.

This won’t fly, because their whole argument is about a woman’s right to choose. If a woman can choose to have an abortion even though the father wants to keep the kid, she can refuse one if the father doesn’t want to.

Besides, doing this would require the extreme-left feminists to admit that men are worth something, and that there is a role for the father in the life of the child.

What could happen to make all this “fair” (as if the life or death of a child boils down to what’s “fair”) is if the man doesn’t want the child but the woman does, then he doesn’t have to provide any support, financial or physical. As it is now, it’s a huge double standard. Women can kill the child against the man’s wishes (even if they’re married, the man has no legal say!), but if she wants to keep the baby, he has to pay child support for at least 18 years. How is that right? They both chose to not keep their pants up!

In Christ,

Ellen

At one time, I used to think there was nothing scarier than a womans right to choose. I was wrong. 😦

Nothing about abortion is fair. Nothing about modern feminism is fair. It has nothing to do with equality, and everything to do with putting men in the position women used to be in.

Thank you! That is a wonderful way to describe the feminist movement - I will have to use it in the future! 🙂

Exactly. And that’s why the best way to prevent such abortions is to prevent pregnancies. The majority of abortions are done on single women.

That’s why abstience is so important, it helps prevent such events. Of course, there will still be abortions within the confines of marriages.
Isn’t the abstinence argument a double standard? Isn’t that the failed argument against a woman’s right to abort her child? If she doesn’t want a child she should not have sex.
It is a gross double standard. In this society there’s a whole “if a woman doesn’t want to have a baby she shouldn’t have sex”, but for men its almost expected that he has to have as much sex as possible with as many women as possible before he “settles down”.
I see the OP’s question as a method to expose the hypocricy that the body of an unborn child is legally bound to the body of it’s mother, therefore hers to do with what she wishes.
It isn’t just that the child is legally bound, the child is physically bound. Men dont’ have to walk in the shoes of the pregnant woman, they can so easily walk away.

This is what I think is one of the problems with the pro-life movement, there’s this “oh, once you accept to have your baby you’ll be so happy, pregnancy will be a walk in the park and you will put up with all that terrible pain in labour and then wow, it’ll be so great when you look in that baby’s eyes!!” et cetera.

We need to be realistic. Pregnancy can be really tough. To stay otherwise is to demean women and their circumstances. The pro-life movement can still denouce the killing of the unborn, we can still support women in crisis pregnancy, and we dont’ have to lie about the concept of pregnancy and parenthood to do it.

The best a man can do if his girlfriend/one night stand is seeking an aboriton is to tell her up front, “I don’t want you to have an abortion” and support her and offer her support, there’s a lot of testament of women who state the father just simply “do what you want, its your choice”. If the woman still has an aboriton when the man has told her he doesn’t want her to, well, it’s really jsut the man’s problem, isn’t it? If a man doesn’t want his child aborted, don’t create a child with a woman who’s not your wife.

Its really just that simple.

You make a good point. Perhaps the number of sufferers of the injustice I’m concerned about are too few to protect by law in practical terms.
There are devoted husbands and father’s who married women that were openly pro-life when they married. After many years of marriage, because of unforeseen conditions, mother’s will decide to abort their child. A child that has a devoted father and loving siblings waiting. The rights of a husband of one of these women are profoundly abused.

The rights of all men are abused when it comes to abortion. Although there are less than there should be, there are those who father babies outside of marriage and are still heartbroken when the mother chooses abortion.
