Hmmmm,

An insightful reply; BUT is it the complete answer?

God Bless you
Well, we could ask this, does God desire that any should perish? Would He withhold mercy from anyone who accepts it, who humbles themselves before Him, repentant for their sins?

OK, now I understand. 🙂

Yeah, I believe that God’s mercy is more prominent than his justice and that’s what it says in Hadith Qudsi (a group of Hadith that are of special importance). In Hadith #1 of Hadith Qudsi, it is said "On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: ‘My mercy prevails over my wrath.’”

The “book” being mentioned is His decree. He decreed to make humans and to interact with us primarily through His mercy. His mercy extends to all things. Oh, how grateful I am that Allah’s mercy is more prominent than His wrath! Were it not for His mercy, who could ever escape Hellfire?
Thank you for sharing that:)

God Bless you,

Patrick

My friend,

Is God’s Mercy infinite? Does it have boundaries or limits?

God Bless you,

Patrick
Hi Patrick, I have a question? What would your answers to the questions you pose be? Do you believe God’s mercy to be infinite? And does it have any boundaries or limit?

Yes, when one despises Jesus, that’s when the Mercy stops.
No, I don’t think so:)

Is it lessened? Likely

BUT God desires that ALL souls be saved [1st Tim 2:4] & only GOD can cause a conversion, so some amount of grace {in this case seen as Mercy} must be at least offered to them.

God Bless

Isaiah 5:6-10
[6] Seek ye the Lord, while he may be found: call upon him, while he is near. [7] Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unjust man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God: for he is bountiful to forgive. [8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts: nor your ways my ways, saith the Lord. [9] For as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so are my ways exalted above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts. [10] And as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and return no more thither, but soak the earth, and water it, and make it to spring, and give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater"

“Infinite”: No:o

Plentiful? Yes:)

Not only does it have boundaries and limits but it seems reasonable to postulate that it MIGHT also have conditions.

John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you: That you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another

Matthew 6:12
And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

Luke 11:4
And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.

These last two are a petition taught by Jesus on the Lords’s Prayer; and are to understood as asking GOD, to ONLY forgive us to the degree that We in turn forgive ourselves & others. Amen

Thanks for asking
