Such experiments do not tend to work well, specially on religious forums which are a target of choice for trolls.
To be honest, your thread and situation felt so staged that I was pretty sure it was trolling - I was imagining a bunch of teenagers snickering behind their screen.
The answer you got for such a fake-feeling post was kinder and more courteous than it would have been on other non-Christian forums I know. The very fact you’re still able to post here is testimony to this.
As others have said, the response would have been different, and probably much more compassionate, had you been upfront from the start.
