A Mother and Wife's Nightmare just came true

I’m wavering between anger and a strong need for you to pray for my dearest sister in law.
Married for over 25 years now, with 8 kids, the oldest 25 and the youngest 11. Her father lives with them in a separate suite. She looks after him and her kids and works as well. Her husband is also a full time worker… but.

He was just exposed in a boy pedophile sting. It’s been on TV news all day now.

It’s a nightmare. One of her daughters found homosexual “stuff” on his phone by accident a few years ago, and so the wife was tipped off to some unusual behavior, although he’s never been blatant and she never found out. They’ve been having the usual problems that married couples have from time to time, and she was confused about some of his behavior, (coming home late) but now it’s out in the open, and she’s not confused anymore! She’s in utter shock. They are very active in their church community, and now she doesn’t know what to do or say. She’s talking to her priest tomorrow. Her marriage is essentially over. She kicked him out two days ago. He lied to her about everything when confronted.

Please pray for this family. She’s being very honest with her children, and calm. They are praying and focused on remaining a family together (without his involvement… He is gone from the home now)

She needs and is thankful for your prayers, to be able to get past this, for her children to keep their faith (because his hypocritical attitude is destroying their faith right now) for her to keep their family home intact and to move forward with this. It’s a living nightmare.

My prayers are with this family as they work their way through this devasting time. Several years ago our family was rocked by something similar and I understand the crisis of faith it can create. My prayers will also be for God to strengthen and comfort each of them.

I’m really struggling with anger on this issue, so I’m going to confession and talk to my priest today.
I’m not an angry person at all by nature, but knowing this man’s actions have caused all this chaos is very difficult. Especially since he was always the “religious” one in the family, telling many in the family how wrong they were not to go to church, etc. And that the kids are all going to be split up to go to different relatives while the house is getting sold, and then relocated is so maddening. It’s not mom’s fault. She’s doing the best she can to get this done and then get the kids all back together.

I can’t pray for him yet. I’ve tried.
 
Praying for your sister-in-law, her sons and daughters, you, the whole family, the parishioners, and the victims. May Our Lord have mercy on him.
