I just finished reading this book and loved it and am very excited about it. The only question that I wish that I could ask the author is, “How is your husband involved in this rule?” My husband does not have a scheduled life at all- he’s finishing school and working part time. I would like to hear how to suggest and include my husband in this type of lifestyle so he could benefit also. Any thoughts?

Hey DJ Gang,

Before I forget, congrats on #3 on the way. I have a girl and 2 boys and hope for at least one more baby before I’m all done.

I am thinking back on the Catholic books that have had the most impact on me, and I have to recommend anything by Mother Teresa (‘Heart full of Love’ is one) and the biography of St Louis De Montfort (‘Wisdom’s Fool’). The saints are wonderful models of lives empty of selfish ends and full of love for Christ. If you would like really interesting Catholic tapes on a variety of topics, the Mary Foundation (www.catholicity.com) has a selection you can get for free (although they would like a small donation if possible).

I ordered my MROL the other night, and I am anxious to get my copy and begin reading it!

We should start a Catholic version of Flylady!
Hi Ladies,
I’m probably the only unmarried woman posting in here, and most likely the youngest… Anyway I wanted to let you know that there is already something like that out there. It’s called The Little Way and was started by my mom and a friend a while back. If you’d like to check it out here’s the link: groups.yahoo.com/group/TheLittleWay/

They’re currently working on getting their first book out as well.

God Bless!

I have just finished the book. It’s a little different than I expected. It’s very good and I think would be very helpful to a mother who is overwhelmed and doesn’t know where to start to get her home in order.

However I have made my own charts in the past and did not follow them. I have a “pretty good” routine down, but there are things I left out. Prayer, for example. This is something I needed to hear.

I enjoyed reading her analysis of the discipline of children. It was a view I have never heard of before. It makes sense. I think the author has a knack for taking truths of our eternal Lord and bringing them down to a practical, usable level.

Especially helpful was to name the sin of sloth, of which I think the vast majority of our culture is guilty. I am no exception. Anytime we do not want to do something, and we follow through on not doing it, it is sloth.

I also love how the author reveals to mothers how their lives are as much a vocation as any religious. This really helped me to do my tasks for the love of Jesus, just as a Sister would. I feel much more compelled to do my chores and raise my children.

Even though I did not follow her charting advice, I would highly recommend this book to any mother.
