Wina- I realize that it’s been a year for this thread but I’m sure you are well aware that the movie about St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) is available and I’m pretty sure you can purchase it from a Catholic bookshop or where they sell Catholic films

Or you can purchase it online:

ignatius.com/Products/EDITH-M/edith-stein.aspx?src=iinsight

I have never seen the movie about St. Teresa of Avila nor have I seen the movie about St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross but I hope I will.

What movie did you watch about St. Therese of Lisieux?

There is a 1986 version called

“Therese”

imdb.com/title/tt0092090/

Then there is the 2004 version called

“Therese: The Story of Saint Therese of Lisieux”

imdb.com/title/tt0092090/

There are other films available on St. Therese

By the way, carmelitegirl93 I still think your video on St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) is still remarkably good…I love all of your videos.

May St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) intercede for all of us. Amen.

God bless,

Hi Goforgoal,

Thanks for the info. Actually I tried to buy it through internet but they can’t send it to me as it’s for sale in USA and Canada only.😦

I tried to contact my friend in USA but she told me that it’s risk as it’s only for USA and Canada, she is afraid too.

So don’t know how can I get it 🤷

Any advice ?

Thanks
Wina

Hi Goforgoal,

I watched St. Teresa Avila movie even I bought it, I saw St. Therese lisieux, I borrowed from friend. Then I watched St. Teresa de Los Andes, this I bought too.
But for St. Edith Stein unfortunately I can’t buy it online.

And one more movie I would like to see is St. Augustine. But there is no English Title 😦

Thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions.

That is nice that your friend loaned you the movie about St. Therese of Lisieux but I’m still curious as to which one you saw?

You can watch the 1986 version of St. Therese of Lisieux on YouTube…Now, I’m not too sure if it’s the whole movie or not.

Is the movie about St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (St. Edith Stein) available at your local library? Perhaps, you could borrow it.

Hmm, St. Augustine movie…Do you mean this one?

If so, I would love to see it as well and where you can purchase it if one can?

Yes it’s the one. Actually I don’t know where I can buy it. But My friend told me that I may download from the site. But there is no English title. So How can I understand them?🤷

Wow! I realize this post is really old and I don’t know if the OP** carmelitegirl93 **posts on CAF anymore.

As a matter of fact, I haven’t heard from her in a long time? 😦

But, I do Pray she is doing alright.

I don’t mean to resurrect an old thread (if that’s what it is called) or break Forum Rules.

However, I was thinking about Friar David, O.Carm’s question about why people refer to her by her given name, St. Edith Stein and not by her Religious name, St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross?

Well, I don’t know if this helps or not Friar David, O.Carm’s when I first discovered St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross at the time she was known to me as St. Edith Stein and I did not know of her Religious name until later on so I hope that answers your question of concern.

Is it just St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross that you wonder about?

There are many other Saints and candidates for Sainthood who are referred by their given names and not there Religious names…Two people that come to mind are:

Given name, Marie-Bernarde Soubirous, known as St. Bernadette Soubirous or St. Bernadette of Lourdes or St. Bernadette yet in Religious she was given the name, Sr. Marie Bernard or Sr. Mary Bernard.

Given name and known as, Blessed Dina Belanger yet in Religious she was given the name, Sr. Marie-Sainte-Cécile de Rome.

When I first met Rev. Mother Claire of the Blessed Sacrament, OCD that is what she was known to me and she is still known to me as Rev. Mother Claire of the Blessed Sacrament, OCD yet on this website

myalternatives.ca/armstrong/obituaries/2013-lozeau-lorraine

She is referred to as Lorraine Lozeau.
