I understood what she meant. Or at least I think I do! LOLI think the problem some are having is that your initial post is very confusing It is rather hard to understand just exactly what you are saying, or where you are coming from. You start out by saying Meister Eckhart is great and the Church silenced him, as if The Church did something really wrong.![]()
That there is a movement to reinstate him. And that Tolle said some similar things but has too much of a mish mash in his book. Kind of what I meant by “mixing spiritual streams”.
I am not Catholic and I do not get all the “catholic speak” but I do enjoy the writings of some of the saints. TBH, I have never heard of Fox.
I was under the impression that Eckhart did not leave the church but went in hiding before they could burn him at the stake!
I think he was misunderstood as well. I found a quote from another Pope, John Paul II, he said: "Did not Eckhart teach his disciples: ‘All that God asks you most pressingly is to go out of yourself - and let God be God in you’? One could think that, in separating himself from creatures, the mystic leaves his brothers, humanity, behind. The same Eckhart affirms that, on the contrary, the mystic is marvelously present to them on the only level where he can truly reach them, that is in God."
