A new order?

It’s been on my mind, so I thought I’d ask.

I am a great admirer of JPII’s Theology of the Body. What a wonderful message! It gives me hope that sex will be redeemed, marriages will be healed, Catholics will learn the truth about contraception, and vocations will flourish.

I’m wondering if God doesn’t desire people to consecrate themselves to Him for the sake of this message, i.e an Order that is committed to praying for and spreading this message. We know Satan attacks the family and absolutely hates the truth of Theology of the Body, so wouldn’t God like to raise up an Army to fight the battle? (similar to the Sisters of Life combating the Culture of Death).

I was talking to a friend of mine who is also discerning religious life, and his eyes lit up because he had been thinking the same thing.

Anybody else had these thoughts?

Thanks!
Teri

I am thinking that your thinking something on the line of consecrated virgins. Here is a link to it consecratedvirgins.org/cv/becomingcv.html

I think an order dedicated to spreading the message of the “Theology of the Body” would be an incredible, necessary mission! There are so many in the world who do not know the truth of chastity and live in scandal during their lives. Not only would it enhance the knowledge of the human body (a great gift of God) but it would help people understand and respect each other better. I will pray for this intention.

Hi Teri, do you know about the ‘Family Apostolate’ ( consecrating FAMILIES to Jesus, thru Mary, In union with St. Joseph (ie, the Holy Family)
and their
Catholic Corp (of consecrated celibates = familyland.org/content/Content.aspx?CategoryID=142 )

and their Family Consecration online program = familyland.be/family_consecration/introduction-to-consecration-to-the-holy-family.html

Because that is exactly what you speak of . . . Not many people know about this apostolate - it is approved formally by the Vatican just in 2007 . . . (even thought it is Global and in existance for decades)

PM if you want any more ‘testimony’ … .👍

Well, let’s see here.

There are some proposed/emerging charisms that will be using TOTB:

Daughters of Our Lady of Grace in North Dakota–has one person, the foundress, and one can google the link.

Good Shepherd Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus (proposed by Cloister Outreach)

cloisters.tripod.com/goodshep/

We are also developing the Consecrates of St. John the Beloved, which would be a charism for virgin males (almost the same as CVs for women).

If you wish to expand your idea further, our Founders and Friends group is always here for you: groups.yahoo.com/group/founders_and_friends/

Blessings,
Cloisters

Thanks for the info!

The Sisters of Life in NY and the Franciscan Brothers of Life in FL have a strong emphasis on the Theology of the Body in the their ministry.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂

I’m sure Karen Lhotka who is founding the Sisters of the Holy Innocents & St. Gianna Molla would implement TOTB.

cloisters.tripod.com/holyinnocents/

She and others (including myself) have formed Dr. Gianna’s Assistants for Life (DGAL), and we plan to make it a Lay Association of the Faithful from which the Holy Innocents Sisters would emerge.

cloisters.tripod.com/drgiannasassistantsforlife/

What you could do is start a TOTB study group for your diocese, and be a DGAL member (if attracted to do so). We are internet-based at present, but if there is more than one DGAL in an area, they can have group meetings.

Blessings,
Cloisters

I’ve got some links on there for the TOTB that can be helpful in starting a ministry. The study group is an excellent idea, especially if there are colleges in the area.
