I came across this set of wonderful Rosary beads I found on Etsy. They’re completely hand carved by a gentleman in the Ukraine (even the actual beads). I really appreciate the skill someone has to be able to completely hand carve something like a set of Rosary beads, and because I really do prefer wooden ones having a set such as these makes them that much more special (to me). The wood is ebony wood and che wood.

So I thought I’d share a picture of them with you all.

Very beautiful. I’m amazed at the skill of some people. The detail of the corpus is great.

Lovely! When I received my First Holy Communion, my sister who was in England at the time, sent me a pair of wooden rosary beads as a gift. All I can remember now, was that it was made of some special wood, maybe signifant to Our Lords life, but I really can’t say as it’s too long ago. I still have them, though the metal links which were in appearance similar to copper, now have a tendency to break, so they’re kept in my drawer.

Isn’t it though! He had another with a sterling silver Corpus Christi but I really preferred the hand carved version. It makes it that much more special. The Rosary centre is the Immaculate Heart.

Here’s a couple of close up pictures

Yes, that’s what I’m thinking, as I can’t think of any other type it could be. Thankyou for mentioning it.

Not sure of forum rules, but are you able to provide a link to the gentleman’s store on Etsy?

Here’s a link to his site. Please note I am in no way affiliated with this business.
