Hello.

My parish needs a new thurible. Any ideas on where to look for a new thurible that would be durable and yet practical?

Your local Catholic supply company would have thuribles. Most major cities, and many smaller ones, have church supply companies in town or within driving distance. Ours in in the seat of the diocese, and they will deliver to any of our parishes in the diocese.

Online, the company Autom.com has reasonably priced church goods. There are numerous church supply companies online.

CM Almy (catalog and online) has beautiful church goods, but expen$ive.

Check with your parish secretary as to the preferred vendor for your parish. They may already have an account set up at a couple of places, and the church regularly receives OODLES of catalogs from all of the Church good companies. Lots of choices.
These things tend to be expensive. Much like refrigerators, they know you are likely gong to buy one over span of many years. Are you paying out of pocket? Perhaps you can get your friends to share the expense. Likely though, the parish has a budget for these liturgical items.
My husband and I donated a new censor for the parish we were married in, after I heard the priest ( my boss) saying he wished we had a better one. I showed him the only I was willing to purchase from a catalog, and added that if he had something else in mind, we would be happy to cover the cost. We did, he was pleased. No engraving, but we felt we have given something nice to the Church.
