A Novena Question

I’ve been praying a novena, prayed 4 days. But Sunday I got messed up. I forgot to pray it. (Although I went to Mass, how nutty is that) SO…

What is the tradition of what to do, start over or continue with day 5 today, even though it should have been yesterdays?

While I will thank you for your opinions, which I will get in support of BOTH ways, and I have an opinion on either side TOO, I am looking for a fact if possible.
 
Your choice of words -“I’m looking for a fact if possible” , might be a bit of a freudian slip freudmacher. it all seems to be rooted in intention. You might try this link where Dr. robert Stackpole,STD discusses that very question:

For mine I’d double up - do the day you missed and the next one. That way it’s still nine prayers in nine days.

The only human beings who scare me are the ones who think they never screw up. (I thank our dear Lord Jesus for instituting the sacrament of Reconciliation).
