A odd experience with my priest

I just realized I should not be worried about a priest forgiving me! I should be worried about God forgiving me!

On the contrary, since Christ gave the Apostles the power to absolve sin and to refuse to absolve sin, and because the priest does so as an "alter Christus’; that is, standing in the place of Christ, and since this is the normal and normative means of obtaining absolution, you should be worried about God forgiving you. He is the one that set up the norm that His forgiveness is given through the priest, or withheld.

It is to avoid solipsistic thinking, and convincing ourselves that we are forgiven by “going directly to God” that we have the system we have. It is all too easy to “blow off” our sinfulness with a “Well, God understands” approach.

God normally doesn’t have a conversation with us. God’s normal means of leading us in His Will is through the people He constituted to do that - his priests. You are kidding yourself - or perhaps more bluntly, lying to yourself - if you try to make yourself believe otherwise.

I went to a meeting with him yesterday. I told him about my faith dilemma and he “told” me I have to except, A, B, C in order to be a catholic, he would not give me reconciliation and hurries me out, I was in there for like 5 minutes… The only thing he did for me spiritually was turn me off.

I was very disgusted because when I walked in the building it was very…“cartoonish” You know how you usually see political cartoons person with a fat man on a pile of money… … well i saw fat (huge) priests everywhere…
Am I supposed to put my faith in a man who clearly has no self control?

in what way is your priest fat, sitting around with piles of money, and failing to exhibit self-control? your priest gave you counsel in confession, it is up to you to take it. If it made you spritually or psychologically uncomfortable, that may be a sign that you need to take his advice to heart and act on it. Confession is not supposed to make us comfortable, but to make us acknowledge our sins, and to remain uncomfortable until we have been absolved and have begun to act on a resolution to cease those sins.

Your profile says “unsure” about your religion, you may not even be a Catholic. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is only for Catholics. A non-Catholic cannot get absolution from confession. The priest has a reason to tell you A,B,C of being a Catholic, especially A,B,C for confession.

We ought to be careful of what we say because every word of ours will be held accountable in front of our Lord during Judgment. Please do not accuse anyone of lacking of self control, fat, etc, especially do not be disrespectful to the God’s anointed.
