There are other kinds of groups within the church that don’t have an initiation and acceptance process. Private associations of the faithful as Cloisters mentioned. Bible study groups. Prayer groups.
Yeah, I’m in all kinds of prayer groups that don’t have the “initiation and acceptance process”. I don’t like the Opus Dei or Regnum Christi or Cursillo etc type models. I just want to show up and pray. There are groups at many parishes doing that every day. The caveat is that some of them rely more heavily on Scripture than others, so finding a Bible study type group might take some looking.

You could also just learn to do the Liturgy of the Hours and pray them by yourself. You would be praying from Scripture, you would be joining with the collective prayer of the Church each time you do so and you wouldn’t need other people physically present to do that.

Good point about the Divine office, which I already do. Also about the prayer groups. I really want to attempt the “hour of power” on a regular basis. Deeper prayer, at length. That’s not common.

You may want to look for meditative Catholic prayer resources online. I know that Taize is livestreaming its prayer.

Or, of course, you could always start the kind of prayer group you hope to find. Let others in your parish or area know, and invite them to join you.

Well, it’s wonderful that you have this love for God. Self control (discipline) is a desired goal. Galatians 5:22. Speak to your priest & grow as He leads you.
