I’ll try to be brief.

No matter how we label ourselves, Traditionalist, Papist, Conservative, Orthodox, Liberal, Anti VII, Pro VII, Independent, Sedevacantist, or whatever, HMC remains intact as Christ promised. HMC has weathered everything thrown at it. It will weather the current problems as well.

It’s obvious the traditionalists have like minded bishops in the Curia today. And some share concerns about the years since VII. There are also some bishops who don’t blame VII for anything.
So we are all represented in Rome, no matter where we stand on the current state of the Church.

But…

Today, the internet offers a chance to easily gather tons of information on the history of the Church. Those of us that gather this info and take a hard look at it, tend to determine at which point in Her history HMC got it right. And thus the debates begin on the internet for the world to see. And participate in, if they choose.

And every time a new thread is started about Communion in the hand, or Latin vs Venacular, what happens ?

Some fall into sin. When these threads gather steam, we begin seeing Anger, Pride, Heresy ( though most times through ignorance ), etc.

These threads should stop. How can we defend our beautiful Faith while sinning and being accessory to these sins ?

It often starts with sin. " Latin Mass in the Venacular ? " is a classic example. Starting a thread like that is being an accessory to another’s sin through Provocation.

Sure, a new member or convert may ask without ill intent, and not be guilty of provocation, but more often than not, Satan will wind up pleased and God offended.

Anyone who understands what provocation means, and joins the discussion anyway is an accessory by Partaking. As soon as pride or anger shows up, it gets out of hand.

And it demands a response at that point. And often the proper response is nowhere to be heard. Just more sin. Defending the sinful reply, praise or flattery for the author of that reply. Partaking by rebuttal by the offering of ones own view.

And what about the one who simply reads the thread and moves on, while aware of the sin he/she sees ? If one is aware of the
sin(s), and simply moves on, he/she is accessory by Silence.
The only proper response to such threads is to report them, and also, with charity and prudence, posts a heads up to the thread participants.

This is not my opinion. It’s Church teaching on sin and it’s forms.
VII has nothing at all to do with these teachings. Any Catholic is bound to accept them whether Papist or Sedevacantist.

I have been guilty of all of the sins I’ve pointed out above. A lot of us have. And it’s time to stop.

We must let those who have given their lives to Christ and have received the Sacrament of Holy Orders debate these issues.
We must have faith in Christ’s promise that HMC will remain until the end of our time.

As laity, we should defend Catholicism by prayer and piety. We have an enormous treasure chest full of ways to build our faith as Catholics. We have all HMC has ever given us to enrich our Catholic Spirituality. None of it has been taken away. The lives of the Saints are there to inspire us. Devotions abound. Third Orders are waiting with open arms.

HMC isn’t failing us. Weak faith in the face of todays world is what stops our growth spiritually. Weak faith hinders vocations. It shortens our distance from sin.

And these provocative threads we relentlessly rekindle place us in sin’s grasp.

Accendat in nobis Dominus ignem sui amoris, et flammam aeternae caritatis. Amen.

I posted this a while back, and today I realized I’ve become very hypocritical. Everything I’ve preached against in my OP, I’ve done.

I’m leaving the TC sub forum. It’s not good for me to stay here any longer. I need to build my Faith and my spirituality as a Catholic, and for me, this sub forum is not the place to do so.

To those I’ve attacked and offended, sometimes childishly, I offer my apology. To those who have offered support to my posts, thank you, but please don’t get caught up in all of this division as I have.

God Bless each of you, and please join me this evening in remembering our Holy Father BXVI in our prayers.

Amen to that, my friend. Fr. Chad Ripperger puts it best, telling all Traditionalists that no matter where we stand on Vatican II and related matters, our primary duty in life to know, love, and serve our Lord never can and never will change. May the Grace of God transform us all and help us to show the beauty of Tradition to our brothers and sisters with true charity and zeal for the salvation of souls.

I agree, but I dont believe sedevacantists are Catholic. They are, objectively speaking, outside Holy Mother church and on their way to damnation. I pray for their conversion.
