I went to my work Christmas party last Friday. And before the meal, they said a grace

What made me even more happy is the man started with ‘Heavenly Father’. I was very happy. In Canada people are SO politically correct, very few work places would do that. I use to work for an office (one of the biggest employers in town) that gave us a free barbecue on Canada day. The last year I worked there, they did not want to offend the immigrants so they insisted we refer to it as ‘Summer Picnic’ day

I am grateful to God that I work in a place that says grace

That indeed is a true blessing! (Pun not intended ) We are getting that way here in the U.S. and at the same time as religion being forced out of public life, certain overzealous groups see attacks on religion around every corner, which fuels the fire. (Starbucks red cup, anyone?)

May I have a little sharing from you, after a sharing from me.
It seems to be that things are very different in some areas concerning religious attitudes and practice, comparatively to other places.
I am in Tanzania, of whose people are of all major religions, with the majority of Christians and Muslims. The population distribution in relation to religion differ geographically. The eastern coastal belt and the islands of Zanzibar and Unguja are majored by Muslims while the mainland by Christians. Normally public religious expressions are found to harass no one, but sometimes end in harsh reactions especially when the one who “is offended” by those actions is a Muslim, and as normal it is not the case from Christians. In a situation like this suppressing some practices for a good reason is understandable.

Now my concern comes when saying grace becomes amazing in a situation which does not threaten as the above (at least as far as my knowledge is concerned, which is why I ask for enlightenment). In working places it is normal to find that if workers are of all religions sometimes alteration of the one to lead a prayer takes place. Of course it is done on someone’s initiative and encouraging efforts, but worthy the name “normal.”

Then what makes it “A pleasant surprise” to the elaborated extent? Sharing please.

What makes it pleasant is in Canada fewer and fewer organization wish to do anything that could resemble Christian behaviours (Notice how I spelt behavior )

With this drastic change, what is expected of the future of the Church at the area?
