I posted this a couple of months ago on the prayer intentions board and thought we might need to consider it here where things get a bit “Testy” from time to time.

I thought we could use a “poster’s prayer” here.
Something that would help us be thoughtful and charitable in all our responses.
Help to Calm us when we “need to count 10 before we post”, because of something someone has said.
And just in general, give us time and a nudge to consider how we respond to others so as to better explain ourselves and our faith.

Here is my thoughts -
Quote:
Almighty Father, I your humble servant, ask you to enlighten me so as to be a good communicator of Your love in each word I post.
Send your Holy Spirit to me this day and guide me in Your truth.
Guide my hand in all posts I write, that I may communicate clearly and in all charity to others.
Help me remain calm when others speak ill of You, or Your Church.
Give me the insight to understand how and where I can be of help to others through my posting.
Give me the right words to touch the hearts of others and draw them closer to the fullness of faith in You through Your Church.
I ask this in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen
I’d love to hear others ideas. - Then each could contruct their own version.

Peace
James

This is the point I was trying to make in a past thread:

We all need to be thinking of God WAY before we make a post or begin a thread! Thanks JRKH!

Conveniently, what I read today in First John Chapter 3 will be my prayer:

1 John 3:11-24

11 For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: we should love one another, 12 unlike Cain who belonged to the evil one and slaughtered his brother. Why did he slaughter him? Because his own works were evil, and those of his brother righteous. 13 Do not be amazed, (then,) brothers, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. Whoever does not love remains in death. 15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him. 16 The way we came to know love was that he laid down his life for us; so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17 If someone who has worldly means sees a brother in need and refuses him compassion, how can the love of God remain in him? 18 Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth. 19 (Now) this is how we shall know that we 7 belong to the truth and reassure our hearts before him 20 in whatever our hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. 21 Beloved, if (our) hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in God 22 and receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. 23 And his commandment is this: we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another just as he commanded us. 24 Those who keep his commandments remain in him, and he in them, and the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit that he gave us.
