A prayer for a little dog

I am still terribly upset as this happened within the past hour. I live in a government rental home and the house adjoining mine is vacant. I heard the sounds of a small dog in much distress and I immediately thought of torture as this is what it sounded like. I went outside and my door makes a loud scraping noise as I open it and the sounds immediately stopped. I went next door and the house has been (again!) broken into…I had a look as best I could but could see nothing so came inside and rung the government agency who is now on their way to investigate. This house has been vacant for six weeks and is covered in grafitti and has been broken into endless times. I dont know why they dont board the house up completely to prevent this.
I live in a very poor area beset by social problems of every kind on every level and torture of a dog would not be unusual. Please say a prayer for this little dog…whether it was next door or not (I am pretty sure it was since I live in silence), this poor dog was in terrible distress. I am still very upset and so is my own little dog.

will do, but…if the dog were being tortured I don’t know that the sound of your door would have stopped his cries, but…I don’t know, I’ve never heard anything like that before, thank God. Hopefully someone is just messing around with a sound track or something and when they found out someone was around they turned it off. Let us know.
 
Barbara I am praying for you and this little dog too. This kind of thing sickens me too, and we have a lot of it where I live in Arizona! Abandoned horses, dogs, guinea pigs - you name it, we’ve had someone abuse and abandon it. And the all too common ‘cockfighting’ or dog fighting that people do - unbelievable what human beings are capable of! I will include this in a prayer to St. Francis before bed. The hearing of my door may have caused whoever or whatever to stop the cries…it is known I am keeping an eye on the house adjoining as most vacant homes in this area have been burnt down through arson. But thank you for mentioning the sound track…I never thought of this and I hope it was something like that. Actually realizing it could have perhaps been something like that makes me anyway feel a bit better.

The Trust have already called but did not let me know what was inside if anything. I doubted they would.

The police around here would not do anything - understaffed and too busy - it was a better option to call the Trust who called out immediately.

Praying for this little dog, and for victims of all violence brought upon them. I pray that what you heard was not real, and that no harm was being done to a helpless animal.

Thank you for the prayers…I am hoping it was not what I thought. When I shifted into this area over 25 years ago, a contemplative nun I know said to me that things happen in this area I could not even dream about…I thought this was an exaggeration at the time - I learnt otherwise. My doctor told me that I was in culture shock. 25 years down the line and I am wiser.
I am very grateful for the prayers just in case it was what I thought…I had a weird dream about not being able to fly internationally as I did not have a passport. The dream connected to my thoughts last night - that perhaps I should shift (I have the option to do so from The Trust if I wish)…but then I think it is God’s Will to stay here (i.e. no passport!). Animals around here can have a terrible time…Blessings - Barb

Dear Lord have mercy on this little dog and help the dog survive and be safe . Lord let there be peace , love and harmony in that home next to Barbara’s home . Lord let the persons hurting this dog repent and change their ways and turn their hearts to GOD . THANKS LORD for doing this , in the name of Jesus , amen . , your brother in Christ, John

**Oh my goodness, how horrible… of course I will pray for the little dog… it’s amazing what they must endure at times… **
 
Praying hard for this little dog. I once rescued a dog from cruel children so I know how it feels:(

Thank you very much to those who have prayed…I can’t update as The Trust will not tell me anything, which is usual. They have called next door and boarded up another window - the one that was broken into…why they dont board up all windows and be done with it, I dont know. As long as there is an unboarded window there will be breakins and some sort of mischief (or far worse!) in the vacant house next door.

Barb, I am praying for this situation, whatever it turned out to be - and especially for your safety and peace of mind. It sounds like you live in a frightening area. I’ve been there myself, so I know how upsetting things can be on a daily basis. May Our Lord and Our Lady continue to keep you safe, and all those around you - especially the innocent little animal you heard the other night. God bless!
