A Prayer For My Dear Father

My father recently passed away, please help by keeping him in our thoughts and prayers.
I have lost my dearest father and my closest friend.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.
 
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
We pray in hope for Jacsluck & family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

A prayer for rest

O Lord, grant rest to the soul of Your departed servant Jacsluck’s father in a place of light, a place of green pasture, a place of refreshment, where all pain, sorrow, and sighing have fled away. As a good God Who loves mankind, forgive every sin committed by him, in word or deed or thought, for there is no man who lives and does not sin. For You alone are without sin, Your righteousness is everlasting, and Your Word is truth.

May your father’s soul rest in peace and may you find comfort knowing that he is now with God. It’s so hard losing your dad, I lost mine 22 years ago and I still think about him every single day. Be reassured that as time goes by, you will find it easier to focus on the happy times that you had together, rather than on his sad passing.

Praying for the repose of the soul of your father. Also praying that the Lord may grant you strength and comfort.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
